QOTD 9-2-09

Good Morning Everyone!

I went out with an old friend last night and I thought of the QOTD...

How different is your bridal party from when you first got engaged? Do you expect it to change any further?

This old friend is an ex-girlfriend of one of FH's very good friends (possibly his BM, but he hasn't decided yet). When I first got engaged, they were still together and I absolutely wanted her in the BP and I told her this. Now, even though I still want her in it, I don't know if it's a good idea. They've both moved on and FH's friend is dating another good friend of mine who is also in my BP. Might get sticky...

Also, when I first got engaged, I had these 2 other girls in my BP and now things have fizzled between me and them. I scratched them off my list a few months ago and I'm so happy about it!

Mine hasn't changed at all. One is in a more serious relationship with a guy she was 'seeing' when we were first engaged. And another is talking about getting engaged to her BF (who I ADORE! and am so happy about) but nothing yet so everyone is pretty much still the same

Since when I first got engaged, it only changed that I added 1 more girl. All my other girls are my friends for over 10 years with the exception of 1.

ours has not changed at all.
i always knew i only wanted my cousins & my sister. they mean the most to me. we spent every summer together as kids & as adults we are all very close.
FH said that he was including these particular 5 friends from day one as well. he is just having a major problem picking one to be the best man.

Nothing has changed as of now.....I am strongly considering taking out one girl who I have been friends with her for years. Her attitude has changed so much since we got engaged. It is kind of like she is jealous or doesn't want to hang out since I am not single. I have been friends with her since middle school but if she continues to go days without calling me back or just being a complete b i otch, I will be taking her out. Other than that, the BP is the same!

the only one that has changed was on FHs side....

one of his groomsman unfortunately has a very bad addiction to drugs....he has been battling it in and out of rehab and unfortunately, he is not winning this battle....

i always worried about how would be able to be a responsible groomsman (he almost didnt make the eparty and when he did, he didnt even bring a gift! lol but we didnt care too much cuz of the situation, but still...)

but then he heard that they have to rent tuxes, etc, and be around for certain things....and he basically manned up and told FH he knows he wont be good for all the responsibilities n doesnt want to let FH down so he stepped out of the BP

soooooo now we're 1 uneven.....but FHs sister just eloped last month, to a guy shes been w/for a while but FH was always hesitant to ask him cuz they're kinda friends but have ups n downs, but now that hes a brother in law, i think he may ask him

my sides not changing no way no how!!!!

Nope nothing.....two out of the four will be married by the time my wedding rolls around, so thats it.

Technically it hasn't changed at all - as in we haven't asked anyone and then un-asked them, lol.

BUT there was one of my girlfriends and one of FH's guyfriends (not a couple) that we were originally planning on asking, and never did. My friend is just very flaky and uninterested....didn't bother to call and congratulate me, canceled plans to get together a week after I got engaged, and didn't even come to my e-party. Oh and she moved in and bought a house with her boyfriend and never thought to tell me of the good news.

FH's friend is a whole other story, sad one too. They've been friends for like 20 years.........then he broke up with his girlfriend of 11 years (one of my BM's) and kind of fell off the face of the earth. Stopped calling, stopped coming around. He showed up to our e-party 1 1/2 hours late (to a 3-hour event) and was completely hungover. We haven't even sent him an STD because FH doesn't know if he wants him there period now. Funny though, b/c we were out the other night and apparently he stopped by....left FH a note in the door saying to give him a call

ETA: as for people we've actually asked.....no they won't be changing. They're all either family or our longest and closest friends, and we know they're people we can trust with our lives

I have one girl who is not in anymore, but she pretty much told she cannt 2 mths after I asked her. She is getting married 2 mths after me and the cost would be a lot for her but thats it! Everyone else is good!

I always knew who my BP would be... Only one person is different than what I always thought it would be... and it hasnt changed since I got engaged...

Well, when we 1st got engaged, I had just wanted a MOH and a BM, but then decided that I also wanted to include my BF because I couldn't imagine her coming just as a 'guest', and he picked his cousin to be a GM...I don't think it will change any further...
