*QOTD - 9/5/13* - Long Island Weddings
FH and I both grew up in Bellerose and we both currently live in Bellerose. The neighborhood has changed a lot so we both can't wait to get out. We are thinking something in Nassau but FH doesn't want to go too far East. We just want to make sure we are in a clean, safe neighborhood in a good school district.

Where in staten island do you work? I'm about to move to eltingville.
My aunt lives in Eltingville and I used to live in Great Kills. It is a nice area but am not the hugest fan of SI.

We were looking for a place that would be centrally located to both our work places (he works in Brentwood, I go to Stony Brook). We are currently renting an apartment in Holbrook, which works out nicely. We ultimately want to buy a house in the suburbs with a safe neighborhood and good school district, but we will only start looking once I graduate from school and get a permanent job.

Re: *QOTD - 9/5/13*
it was pretty much handed to us, so we didn't really have a choice. we are renting a house from FH's parents, who own a few properties. the price was too good to pass up ... so I will be a LIW bride moving to NJ!

FH and I currently live in a beautiful apartment outside of Raleigh, North Carolina. We have been here for about 2 months now since FH got a job as a 4th grade teacher. I am loving the sunshine, but I can't wait to move back to ny sometime. We always knew deciding where to live would be difficult, we grew up in totally different parts of ny. I never thought we would end up here though, but you cant give up a teaching opportunity these days. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a job yet, so I have not fallen in love with our new location. I miss our families most of all.

Right now we're living with FH's parents. Its not THAT bad but really I cannot wait to have our own place. We're here so we can save money to have a decent amount put away AFTER the wedding to put a sizable down payment down on a place or flat out buy a condo or short sale.We both refuse to rent and pay someone else's mortgage and any complex isn't suitable for FH and all his internet crap. :eyeroll:

We have been living together for 2 years now, we decided to move to PA since both of us love it here and it is still close enough to LI so we can visit family.

I moved in with FH exactly one month ago. He owns a home in NJ. While it's not ideally where i'd like to stay, we both work in nyc so it works for us. He's from Staten Island and I'm from New Hyde Park so I'd like move back to LI eventually. I'm just thankful to not have to worry about getting another house till a year or so after the wedding.

Good question sorry crashing! My sister and I bought a condo in manorville because we grew up here and work in the hamptons... I then met FH and he moved in after 1.5 yrs of dating then 3 months later boom we are engaged. I want to stay in the area because fH is a lawyer literally right down the rd plus it's nice and quite out here, but it all depends on where i get a job when i graduate nursing school(currently commuting over an hour 4-5 days a week).....sooo ultimately deciding on a place to live depends on where your job is(if you don't mind commuting far distances), cost, taxes, school district-if you plan to have a family for buying anyway ...renting is a different story i have never rented....
