Today I was looking at an old picture of me and FH and realized it was the day we got engaged. It got me thinking of that day, I knew it was coming soon but had no idea. He took me to the park to just relax and that’s when he dug in his pocket and pulled out the ring…I was shocked.
So todays, QOTD is:
When FH proposed was it a total surprise or did you somehow know it was going to happen? And how did he do it?

i knew it was gonna happen, but not that day, i had just been home from fl for about 5 minutes!

It was a TOTAL surprise, I had no idea! I mean we had been talking about getting engaged and he had even told me he had gone to the jeweler to look at rings, but he made it seem like he was still in the beginning stages of designing the ring when he actually had it already!
Actually, 2 days before we got engaged I yelled at him and told him to stop telling me so many details about the ring - only to find out that he was completely lying about everything to surprise me.

I knew something was coming, a few months before he asked me about rings (but i wasn't sure since that time i was looking around for a blue topaz ring). There were a few other clues in the upcoming months but i wasn't sure when or where it was going to happen.

I knew it was gonna happen....but he kept telling me that he was going to propose before my birthday....he really through me off because he did it in December instead of March!

I had been wanting him to propose for a while, b/c we had been together forever and I was ready to make that commitment with him so I kept wondering when he was gonna do it already. He proposed in the bahamas it was so beautiful and so romantic. We were with friends so he did it on the last day. Everyone else were goin back to there room before partyig that night. Me and him were on a swing on th beach, it was really beautiful. I thought maybe hes gonna do it now but I wasnt sure. So I was like ' it must be so beautiful for people to get married on an island like this. Right after I said that he whispered in my ear ' I love you baby' got down on one knee and propoposed!!!!!!! I really couldnt have asked for anything more

I was completely shocked - he said he moved everything up a few months - background on it was - I had to go for biopsies and it was really nerve racking for me and him, my mother had just gotten over her breast cancer and her radiation, and now I was in the same seat she was with terrible looking sonogram reports, he said that the day I went for my biopsies with my mother (I had to leave all of my jewelry home) he ran to the jeweler and took my ring that I would normally wear on my ring finger left hand and had it sized, put in a rush order, had it for 3 days after my biopsies. He said the thought of me having to go through the same ordeal that my mom had just gone through and the thought of losing me - just freaked him out and thats why he went out right away and got the ring.. makes me melt just thinking about how much he loves me

I kinda had a feeling - he was acting weird all week!!!!! Just very out of the ordinary for him.
He took me to our favorite restaurant and got the best booth in the house - I kinda knew then b/c I always asked him everytime we went there how people get that booth and he knew I always wanted to sit there. So we get to talking and he mentions something about marriage....he knew it got me frustrated when he talked about it not happening for a few years b/c I wanted to be married by 30....so I had said to him 'how many times do I have to tell you - I don't wanna get married after turning 30!!' So then he said, ok - so let's fix that or something like that...next things I knew he got up out of the booth and was on one knee. I didn't even look at the ring for like 5 minutes b/c I was so shocked he actually did it!
Then afterwards he arranged for my whole family to be at my mom's house and then we went out after and he surprised me by having all my friends meet us at the bar. It was the best day ever obviously!!!!!!!!!

I knew it was going to happen but I figured it was going to be a few months later than when it actually happened. We had been talking about it and he said lets just get through law school. Well I finished a semester early and he said nope you have to wait til I'm done. Well we went on trip after I took the bar exam and he totally surprised me.

I new it was coming, but the exact day I was surprised! It was the da before work was starting again (Sept. 4). We went to staples to get me a desk calendar and then he wanted to go to the park. We sat on the beach and he did it there.

I knew it was going to happen... we had gone shopping and I actually got to pick out my ring... I did not know if FH was going to give it to me that day .... but he did ...He got down on one knee and proposed to me.... it was so beautiful the way he did it ... I cried my eyes out....... I love my ring and my FH so much !!!!!!! After he proposed we told the kids ...and they were so happy !!!!!!!

I was completely suprised... it was on a tuesday, and he was taking me out to tell me some good news, so when he told me the good news, I figured that was it and then 1/2 way through dinner he got down on one knee and I STILL didn't know what was going on, it looked like he was tieing his shoe... So he asked me, and I said yes, ofcourse. I couldn't even finish my dinner, I was like crying every time I told someone new!!!:-

I knew it was coming eventually but I was semi-surprised at WHEN he did it! We were snow shoeing in the middle of the woods in Vermont when he did it.... It was by far the most beautiful hike I have ever taken but I did not think he would pull out the ring right then and there!

I had no idea!!!! He proposd while we were in Disney for my dance studio's performance... I was so absorbed in the dance part of it.... i never picked up on how nervous and weird he was acting the day and minute leading up to it

I ABSOLUTELY knew it was coming. The day, the place, everything. I had been busting FH's chops for about a year-year and a half prior (we've been together almost 4 years now, been talking marriage for a while, but he does things at his own pace lol), saying I knew exactly where he was going to do it. He kept saying that he would change the place to throw me off, but I knew he wouldn't. We go to Avalon park a lot in Stony Brook Village, where the labrynth is, and we have our own special little bench there off the beaten path, that we usually deface with our names and anniversary, so I figured it'd be there.
In the end of June I knew he had asked my dad for permission, so I was certain it was coming soon. So on the sunday of that week, he came over and said let's go to avalon to take some pics. So I knew it was coming. We get there, go to our bench, and on the way there was a couple taking e-pics in the labrynth, so I reaaaaalllly busted him and was like oh LOOK, an engaged couple! Haha. So we get to our bench, and lo and behold, it had been replaced since the last time we were there! So he said to take out my swiss army to take care of it again, and as I was putzing around with the knife for a few minutes, he got down on his knee. Good thing I liked the ring, as I was holding a knife!
