Today I was looking at an old picture of me and FH and realized it was the day we got engaged. It got me thinking of that day, I knew it was coming soon but had no idea. He took me to the park to just relax and that’s when he dug in his pocket and pulled out the ring…I was shocked.
So todays, QOTD is:
When FH proposed was it a total surprise or did you somehow know it was going to happen? And how did he do it?

I had no idea. I wanted to be suprised and definetly was. I cried so much because I was so happy. I was a total shock.

i had absolutely no idea....he didnt tell anyone he was doing it b/c he didn't want me to find out so everyone was just as shocked as me. We were at home...i was in bed in my pj's when he popped the question.

I suspected it was going to happen. I told FH that I wanted my best friend from California to be there when he proposed, and she was visiting in November for Thanksgiving, but I never got a ring. Then when I found out she was coming in February, I kept hinting at FH that it would be a great time to propose. On the day we got engaged, he started texting me in the morning that I should ask my bf to come to dinner with us, and he would ask his bf. So now I knew what he was doing, so I suggested we go to Taco Bell - I was trying to beat him at his game! After a little while, I picked the Cheesecake Factory. My friend brought her camera with her, which was a dead giveaway, but they both swore that nothing was going to happen because the ring wasn't even ready. All throughout the wait for our table and dinner, I kept waiting for it, but nothing happened. Finally at one point, I volunteered to take my bf's daughter to the bathroom. When I got back, everyone had changed their seats, and I saw FH sitting up on the windowsill with string in his hands....long story short, he asked me to marry him in front of my best friend!

I knew it was gonna happen....but he kept telling me that he was going to propose before my birthday....he really through me off because he did it in December instead of March!
Same exact thing for me! My birthday is march 15 and he did it christmas eve..i was suprised because I thought he was still saving money!

I knew we were going to eventually get engaged because we were together for so long. However, I really didn't have any clue he was going to do it the day he did.
I thought he won a contest at work and we were going on a balloon ride with a bunch of people from his job, Since it was scheduled for the day after I was going out for Halloween I was annoyed and basically told him that I would likely get home around 3am and then I'll just get ready to leave for the balloon ride since we had to leave around 5. He was so annoyed at me. And, due to bad weather it was cancelled (and I was happy about it - which made him even more annoyed at me!).
It was rescheduled for a week later and while we were up in the hot air balloon he pulled out the ring and proposed. It was so beautiful and I was so shocked!

I knew it would happen in the summertime, I just figured late summer (circa labor day) rather than earlier. I busted him looking at rings on the internet in January, and shortly after we went 'trying on' b/c he was shocked that I wanted a pear (My ring is in my photo album if you want to see)..so I knew it was in the works. It was 8:30 in the morning on July 4, which was our 1 year official anniversary. He had this post it note that I wrote months ago lazered into a 3-d cube (he got in the middle of RF mall)...So he covered my eyes, walked me into the living room and when I opened my eyes there was this glass cube that said (which was the handwriting from my note) 'I will definitely say yes'
And all of a sudden I wend blank and had no idea what happened from there. He was on his knee and I was crying and jumped down on the floor with him!! This was all before morning coffee =) I wouldn't have had it any other way. I totally didn't see it coming or expect it, especially so early in the morning!

I honestly didn't know it was going to happen that night, but deep down I was hoping it would. We were on vacation in Virginia Beach. It happened after dinner. We were back at our room and he brought me onto the balcony overlooking the boardwalk and ocean.

It was AND wasn't a suprise. I totally suspected he was going to do it that day (Valentine's Day) but then he tricked me into the thinking he wasn't going to do it before he finally did it. He propsed to me at a restaurant. He got down on one knee (the whole nine yards). It was really cute!

Complete and utter surprise - Feb 10th this year. Sunday. We were at his apartment and decided to go to grocery store to make dinner together. Took a detour to the water where we sometimes go fishing/to drink coffee and watch sunset. They were dredging. I'm like, is THIS what you wanted to show me? DREDGING??? Then, he whipped out a card - one of those Blue Mountain ones with all the words, words, words - at the end, he wrote, WILL YOU MARRY ME? I thought it was a joke- we used to joke about it all the time. Then, he pulled out the ring. My life flashed before my eyes! It was a strange but happy feeling! Complete surprise because he didn't want the romance of a holiday(Valentine's Day) or a hot-air balloon ride or something to influence my decision. Wanted it to be a plain ordinary day.

He proposed on our 3 year anniversary. FH had always told me he would never propose on our anniversary, birthday (we share the same birthday) or holiday so I had no clue it was coming. He bought be a build a bear in a little tux holding a heart shaped pillor that he had my ring in. He got down on 1 knee and even asked my dad for permission. It was so simple and sweet....it was perfect . After I finally stopped crying I said yes

I knew it was coming however not that day. I planned the whole day. We went to see the Chinese New Year Splendor at Radio City. I ordered the tickets, picked the train, picked the restaurant after etc. We got there and sat in our seats, about 30 min before the show started. He went back out to get a program. Came in and put the program in my lap along with 2 fortune cookies...he said they had treats for us. Seemed appropriate being as it was Chinese New Year. So I opened it and inside was my name and will you marry me. I was shocked and said, 'you're not doing this now, are you?' He got down on 1 knee, opened the ring box which had a light inside and said some stuff. Don't remember any of it because I just wanted him to shut the box. No one had a clue what was going on around us...most of the seats were still empty. I couldn't wait till the show was over to go outside and get a good look at the ring.

I sorta had a feeling faaar back in my head b/c he was acting verrry nervous. I just simply couldn't believe it when it was happening though. Tears, excitment all came at once.. It was amazing!

i knew he was going to do it I just didn't know WHEN lol. He asked my parents in March and I knew he asked them because number one he was going to ask when i wasn't there and I was at a baby shower the day he asked and number two my mom told me . So March goes by and so does April... I'm figuring that it's not going to happen because it had already been over 2 1/2 months. He did it when we went ATVing for the weekend. AND I must say I was completely surprised and shocked. I didn't say yes for like 5 minutes all I could say was OMG
hmm ... I felt bad because I think I know my FH so well that I guessed how he was going to do it and I told my mom. So when the big day came they all came up with this really believable story so that I didnt know what was coming and he did it. So I didnt know it was coming but I did guess the way he was going to do it! lol

I didn't know he was going to propose that night, but I kind of suspected the night after...it was our 3 year anniversary. He asked at our favorite little Italian restaurant in the city. He called me to come to the restaurant after work on a Friday. I looked like crap and wasn't expecting it at all. It was really sweet and romantic though.
