QOTD: How would you describe your wedding day look
Not sure if there was a QOTD yet - but I'm bored
how would you describe your wedding day look? girls who aren't married yet what is the look you want to achieve?
for awhile i thought i wanted to have this sexy bride look going on - but in the end, i think the style/look i am going for is elegant and timeless - my dress is on the plain side, my accessories are very simple, almost antique looking, and in the end i think im going to end up with a simple updo and make up that is more on the natural side....
for some reason i thought i would end up with a more red carpet /glam look - and i was into oversized jewelry and i wanted to wear my hair long and down but it ends up that the things i liked and picked were the total opposite of that i just want to be naturally beautiful that day, so i guess the look i want to achieve that day is simple/elegant and timeless....kind of reminds me of an 06 bride - camacho - i always thought she was a natural beauty on her wedding day and i feel like her look was very simple and timeless...
ok your turn!

i have no clue what i would call my look, but in the end it came out just how i wanted hahahaha. There were some things i think ppl tried to convince me to go a different way, not trying to convince but more like make a little suggestion. But i knew it wasnt me and didnt want to do anything on my wedding day that wasnt me ya know.

its funny, because when i showed my mom a pic of my dress she was like that is SO YOU...and then when she was up here for the shower i showed her my headpiece, i tried it on at the store, and she was like OMG that is SO YOU
but before i actually picked out my dress or headpiece i thought that i would have gone in a totally different direction - so when my mom said that everything i picked was very ME i felt relieved because at one point i couldn't decide on anything and i was getting really indecisive....FH has seen all of my wedding stuff for the most part and he says the same thing - that its all very ME, so that makes me feel good - because i felt like i was losing myself at one point - with all these ideas i had

i think i would describe my look as Pure. I have a very classy dress, completely white. It's got the scrunched bottom, looking more like icing (everybody who's seen me in it says they just wanna lick me up. lol) The jewelry is elegant & pretty and my hair is going to be in long beautiful curls with a sparkling tiara headband on top. I wouldn't say 'simple', but it's definitely not over done.
I think I achieved my goal pretty well.

thats the most important part. When i was trying on earrings my mom was like 'wont they hurt bc of how big they are, maybe a little smaller' I havent worn small earrings since i was 7, why would i for the wedding but then after she saw that with other earrings you couldnt even see them with my hair down she agreed to go bigger. I tried on the pair that were medium sized for her and she even said that in the hair it got lost and you couldn't even see them.
The one thing i did change was eye make up. When i went for my trial, i said not alot of eye make up just a bit more subtle and to do smokey but very little on the edge thats all. After the trial i just felt like hmmmm doesnt stand out as much as i thought it would, and in pics it kinda looked the way i would on a regular day. For the wedding i said its the one day you can go a bit more dramatic and bit more hahahaha. Before i used to think that too much smokey shouldn't be for a wedding, i changed my mind on that haha
i guess that was my look, dramatic

Classy, elegant, timeless were things I thought of all along ... now, all of a sudden, vintage comes to mind. my dress has a vintage look to it, and my jewelry, hair, etc all tie into that and I didn't even really try for that. but that's what it is and I love it!

I always wanted to be a sexy bride. I wanted a dress to show off my figure but also be very classy which is what I think I pulled off.

I would have to say Classic. I had the traditional A line dress with the traditional veils etc. I love the classic fairy tale-ish weddings and that's what I ended up having.

Re: QOTD: How would you describe your wedding day look
romantic
which is funny bc i always thought i would have more of a 'princess' look witha HUGE dress and a HUGE tiara and a HUGE veil
but then I started thinking of how I wanted DH to see me. . . so I toned it down a bit and I loved everything about how I looked on my wedding day. It was the one day of my life that I felt beautiful!

Re: QOTD: How would you describe your wedding day look
I thought my look would be a lot more simple, especially my dress, but my dress is a lot less simple than I thought and for God's sake it's a catherdral legnth train . My make-up I think might be a little like the make-up on my epics which is a lot more make-up than I usually wear and I have a beaded viel and a tiara. I orginally thought it would be a mantilla viel, but the mantilla made me look like an old marme.
I learned that what I throught and where I ended up with my look are very different places.

Re: QOTD: How would you describe your wedding day look
this is funny because i was so about having a THEME for my wedding. and everyone was trying to get me to go the vineyard route and i was 100% against it. i said thats the easy choice and I didnt want to have wine and grapes everywhere. Finally i became frustrated and just said forget it the theme is KATHRYN & BRYAN. & I just wanted to reflect our taste.
Now that the wedding is over, I remember that day seeing everything together, all my girls in their dress, me all ready, the guys in their tuxes, my little church with its balcony and my cozy vineyard with my soft creamy rose centerpieces and gold tablecloths I realized that although my wedding didnt have a theme it had a 'feel'
it was modest, understated and breathtaking. which was, looking back, exactly what I wanted
ETA: now i realize it wasnt an overall look you were asking about but more about my specific bridal look that day. lol well its the same answer

Re: QOTD: How would you describe your wedding day look
its just funny because i thought i would look totally different for the wedding - at first i was really into lace gowns and mantilla veils - i wanted to be real romantic looking.....then for awhile i was into trumpet/mermaid/dropped waist gowns - something more sexy looking - and then i ended up with my dress which is nothing like either of those styles....and i went from wanting romantic, loose, messy hair to wanting something up and more sleek....i think i have multiple personalities
seriously though, the more i thought about the type of look i wanted for that day - the more it came together - i cant wait to see how i actually look though! :lol

i love it when the guests are actually able to figure out the 'theme' of the bride. My one friend did a Greek Goddess Theme and she pulled it off very well with the dress, shoes, hair, etc. She even had a crown of ivy in her hair which really threw it all together.
