QOTD January 14 2011

Ok todays question is inspired from listening to the radio this morning-- They were reviewing the movie the Dilemma.

So...if you caught your friends significant other cheating.... WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

I would tell them..... i could never live with it-- and i just believe in Karma..

That's a tough one.
I did that one's with a close friend and now she's not talking to me and is still with the same guy.

I would tell them. If she/he can't see that I am only acting with his or her best interests at heart, then maybe she wasn't a real friend to begin with!

I think it really depends on the situation.

In general YES I would tell, or I would want to, but as PP stated sometimes they just don't want to hear it and won't listen and it can ruin things.

Thats a tough one. I think usually I would tell with out hesitation. There is only one friend that would be a problem b/c she is dating FH best friend (GM) and we aren't nearly as close as we use to be. It would just be a hard situation b/c of FH and his friend. Who knows! Lets home it never happens!

My instict is to tell them, but i am not sure, i dont like to get in between ppls business....
So im not sure what todo.

hmm as hard as it is, I would tell my friend for sure. Depending on who it was I would probably confront the man too

If I were friends with both of them or just friends with the person who was cheated on, I would first approach the cheating partner and confront him/her about what I saw and urge them to fess up before I do. I don't feel it would be right for me to just run straight to the friend who was cheated on and out the other person. I feel this is something that should be handled between the 2 of them. But, if the cheating partner refuses to say anything, I would have to bring it up to my friend.

If I was friends only with the one who did the cheating, than I would again try and encourage my friend to do the right thing and fess up to what they did and either try to patch things up or end the relationship. I don't think in this situation I would tell the other person what my friend did. It's completely not a senario where I have any say or right to tell the other person. I can only encourage my friend to do the right thing and hopefully he/she will listen.

Oh I would def tell him or her I wouldn't be able to hold it in! And they shouldn't have to go thru something like that!

i've been in that situation and have said something. In the end, she ended up going back to him but I'm glad that I got that off my chest. I would want the same done for me from my friends

I would want my friends to tell me. I would be so hurt and angry if I were to find out that everyone knew except me.

However, I am also the type that would dump his A$$ if he ever cheated. That doesn't fly with me.

The girls who aren't like that are I think, the ones who would get mad at the messenger.

been there done that!

one of FHs best friends was dating this girl, (who is now his WIFE!) She was known to get around before she was with him. FBIL caught her several times making out w guys (random and her ex's) at bars while he was living in florida earning a living.

FH's brother is best friends w this guy. So we told him AND this guys brother, and left it in their hands. neither one of them said anything.

so they end up getting married in 2008, and last summer we all go away together at their lakehouse in PA. 3am rolls around and we here the two of them screaming at each other. She apparently has been banging some guy (who was married too) and he kicked her out.

In the end we all felt guilty not telling him about her before they got married but they didnt want to hurt him at the time, because he was so excited to be getting married. to this day no one has told him about what she did because he would be even more furious to know that we could have stopped him from making a huge mistake.

THIS! But in most cases I don't think I would tell. In my old age (hehe) I've learned that its best to keep your mouth shut when it comes to other people's lives. In the past I've had people feel they had the right to intervene in mine. It ended up inadvertently hurting others since these people tried to get back at them by sleeping with whoever. Its just not worth it in my eyes. So my motto now is mind your p's&q's
