First I'd like to thank LTrivitt for choosing me as BOTW. I will try to ask questions that haven't been asked. If I do repeat a previous question, I apologize.
Are you changing your last name after you marry FH? Are you keeping your maiden name, taking FH's last name as your own, combinding your last names, or FH is taking your last name as his own?
I'm taking FH's last name as my own. At first I was thinking of hyphenating our last names since I am in the teaching profession but then I decided I don't care! Just the other day I asked the boy who I'm 1:1 with, whose autistic, if he will call me by my new last name next year when he sees me. His answer was 'No, your Ms. H!' Needless to say, I will be changing my name and cannot wait. It definitely will be something to get used to but I'm looking forward to it!

Taking DH's last name. I can't officially change it yet though since I have some trips booked under my old name and my passport has to match my old name.

FHs/DHs have it so much easier! They don't have to change their name on anything! I keep forgetting I'm going to have to change my passport! Shows you how much I use it, rarely!

This has been a tough one for me. I don't do well with change and I think I might have a nervous breakdown after the wedding and changing my name would be the cherry on top! I am going to keep my last name, but I'll change it when we have kids. I want us to all share the same last name.
Like somebody said already, men really have it so easy.

I am keeping mine but here is an interesting article I saw yesterday on this exact topic.
This question has been on my mind since the day we got engaged! I love FH's last name and would love being called Mrs. D, but I just can't completely give up my last name. I've been K.A. for 29 years! It's who I am and I feel like I'd be losing a part of myself if I completely gave it up. For a while I was convinced I was going to hypenate, but now I'm second guessing

Taking hubby's last name, but since I don't have a middle name, I'm adding the initial of my maiden last name as that.

I am keeping mine. For many reasons. One is it's my identity and I dont want to give that up, two is everyone at work knows me as LL and I wanna keep it like that and three, my name sounds cuter with my last name than his....
As for children...my son has both last names. He was born before we were engaged so we gave him my last name and FH.

I'll be taking FH's last name. I tease him all the time because I love my last name and I tell him he should take it! LOL But in all actuality I don't mind taking his last name at all!
