Did your FH ask your parents for your hand in marriage?? Or was it a complete surprise to everyone?
FH called my dad and my mom and asked them both! Of course they said yes but FH told me after he was SO nervous to call my dad he must have picked up the phone and hung up 50 times!!! FH also told both of our families so when I called them everyone knew already but me obviously!!!
PS - i HATE Mondays!! UGH Lets hope this week goes quickly

Fh did not ask my parents but before we told anyone about the engagement we went to both our parents houses to show them the ring & tell them

Ny mom knew for about 3 months but he waited to ask my dad in person, so ce I am originally from Minnesota he also asked if it would be ok if I lives in new York permanently

FH didn't go super traditional and ask for permission but he discussed it with them and they LOVEEEE him so it was a no-brainer (we've been together since we were 14!). FH went with my dad to have my ring made and everything which is super cute, though, and they shockingly kept it a TOTAL secret i dont know how!!!

FH did not ask anyone in my family he only asked his mom because the engagement ring was hers from her first marriage from his biologircal dad. So she was the only one who knew .

Yes, FH asked my mother and she told him to propse that day... lol! He waited a month after - he wanted it to be perfect.

FH didn't really ask, he told my dad and mom what his plans were and he told them that he would really love to have their blessings and they were really excited and happy and of course they did. He spoke to my parents 2 months before he proposed. I knew he planned on asking but I had NO idea when it was coming!

YES! FH took both my mom and my Dad out to breakfast to ask them about 2 weeks before he proposed, then when he picked up the ring he also met with them to show them

Nope! He didn't ask permission but that was probably because I had mentioned to him beforehand that I really didn't like that tradition.

FH didn't ask my mom. Instead I told her after it happened. She was like who are you marrying since she thought me and FH were just platonic friends even though we live together. She was like ' I thought he slept on the couch' Really!?

YES! FH asked both my parents with my younger and only brother present. He told them he wanted their consent and blessing and what his plans were for me and him and they were thrilled. My Dad felt honored that FH did things that way. He says he has more respect for FH now b/c he did it the 'right' way.

FH asked both my mom and dad a few months befoer when we had our apartment warming party. He also asked my grandfather when we went down to visit him!

Yes he did!
When FH requested to meet my parents alone, apparently it took about 3 weeks to finally find time in their schedules to meet without making it obvious to me! Poor FH, he was sweating it that whole time!
My parents were pretty wise as to why he wanted to ask, so my mom handed him a frame that had a collage of pictures of FH and I and the frame said 'Yes!' or 'I do!' I forget. haha But it was cute. FH said my dad gave him a brief speech in is 'toasting voice' ie when he toasts at the numerous parties we have, he is serious but proud.
Love hearing that story and so happy my parents support us!!

My parents are deceased so he was not able to. He didn't tell my brother or uncles about it, which was actually kind of nice b/c then I got to give them all the good news and get their 1st reactions!
