Good Morning Ladies I want to thank Maggie for passing the crown to me for the week - I just hope that I can do as good a job as her and all of you past BOTWs! I know that I have big shoes to fill (also want to wish FH a very happy birthday today! - as he says - I may be Bride Of The Week - but he is the Birthday Boy of The Week.. I have competition )
Here it is... 'When you realize that you want to spend the rest of your life with a person, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible'
So my question is.. what is the first thing that FH did that just made you realize that he is the man that you were going to marry.. Where were you? What happened? How long after you knew that he was the man that you were going to marry did he propose?

The first thing that FH did to make me realize that he was the man that I was going to marry - was that he was my best friend before we started dating. He actually listened, which was something that I was not used to from a boyfriend. We dated for almost 3 years before we got engaged And 209 days until we live happily ever after

My story is a bit odd, but we were hvaing issues at around the 3-4 yr mark... We broke up... I started seeing another guy... Went out on 2 or 3 dates... By that last date, all I kept thinkin about was FH and how I missed him and how all of this just wasnt working out for me.. It hit me like a ton of bricks... 'FH is the person for me'... So for me, it took time away to realize what I had...

FH and I were also friends for a while before we started dating. Then we dated for like 2 weeks, he broke up with me, and we got back together almost a year later. When we made it through my first year at NYU (I lived in the city, he lived on LI), I knew we'd make it forever. And we were engaged less than a year after that.

Me and FH were also having some problems during the 2 yr mark and we made it through and worked everything out. During that time I realized how much I really loved him, I couldn't see my future without him. It really does hit you like 'a ton of bricks' when you truly love the person and you know he's the right one for you....

I actually told FH this story the other day!!
I was sitting on his big comfy chair reading his son a book and he came over and sat with us, put his arms around both of us and said 'this is the way it's supposed to be.' I wasn't sure at the time how he felt about marriage and all that stuff...so when he said that it just made me melt and think this is the man I want to marry and have a family with. He didn't propose for another year after that - which seemed like forever then, but now the wedding is almost 8 months away...AHHHHHHH!!.

Re: QOTD - September 8th :o)
We'd already been friends for 4 years when we went on our first date which was 12/23/06. 8 days later on NYE he first told me he loved me. About a month into dating we knew this was it for both of us and began talking about moving in together and the future.
I just had these intense feelings that I'd never had for anyone before which scared me because I thought I'd come pretty close to the 'one' in the past or so I'd thought. I realize now that it wasnt. It just felt different with FH. I wanted to take care of him and had no doubts about a future together. With other b/f's I found myself questioning everything. So to sum it up, I knew he was the one about a month into us dating. We talked about getting engaged throughout the entire year and a half of dating until he actually proposed.

I love When Harry Met Sally!!!! I've watched it a million times!!!!
I knew I was going to marry him after the first two weeks I met him. FH is older than me and we met at the wrong time in both of our lives. I fell head over heels for him. he didn't want a serious relationship and neither did I but when i met him I wanted to be with him. We stopped talking for about 8-9 months and then he contacted me. And the rest is history. Two years after we were officially dating he proposed.

HOnestly, I knew after the first date. I came home and told my mom actually that he was the man I would marry. No other reason than i got that feeling...it felt right and natural and felt like I knew him for years
When we broke up 4months later though, she very thoughtfully threw it in my face and we giggled about it...and how wrong I was at that time...
6 Months later we got back together and I knew that if it wasnt for good then it wasnt happening. And we discussed it a few months after we got back together... but ultimatly it happened 3 years after we first started dating (including the breakup)
Good question!! I am getting very warm and happy feelings thinking about this

In our case, we FELT that way the minute we had our first kiss. It was like magic HOWEVER...
Your story is not odd. FH and I went through the same thing. It is not the most romantic story to tell, and neither one of us like to remember that moment in our relationship, but I guess it was necessary BEFORE WE KNEW we did belong together.
* We were engaged by the end of that year*

Re: QOTD - September 8th :o)
I actually can't pinpoint it exactly. I knew from very early on that he was actually normal, and we got along great, but I had just gotten out of my first year and a half of college, in which I got my heart broken a lot and broke one myself, so I was a little hesitant to fully let myself go. When FH wouldn't call me his girlfriend initially, I thought he wasn't that into me, and then when and why he decided I was, I thought it was a jerky reason haha.
I guess we realized we were going to marry each other after he told me he loved me, in his first Valentines Day card to me. We talked marriage from maybe a year and a half on, but it took him till a little over the 3 1/2 year mark to do it! FH doesn't like to be rushed, and does things in his own time, and a little bit to torture me I think lol.

That When Harry met Sally quote is on our homepage of our wedding website :)
I don't think it was an exact moment.... over a little time I realized I have never trusted someone so much. I have never had any reason to doubt anything he's ever told me, and I never doubt him about ANYTHING!! the fact he is so trustworthy is huge for me.
He also after 4 years of dating still puts in a lot of effort- kisses me goodbye everymorning, tells me I love you each time when hanging up the phone, still opens car doors for me, brings home flowers at random. He hasn't let that stuff fizzle out!

I knew he was the one when I couldn't wait to tell him I loved him. We hadn't been together that long but it was always on the tip of my tongue and it was like i wanted to shout it out. We were young though so we dated for 5 years before getting engaged in July :)

He bought me breakfast to my job in the city. That was the first time I even saw him up close and personal so I was really really really nervous. But I couldnt beleive he did that for me.

Re: QOTD - September 8th :o)
FH and worked together and were really great friends. I was in another relationship and it was NOT working out. and the more time i spent with FH the more i started to feel more than friendship feelings. After i brokeup with my boyfriend at the time, the next night we hung out. He came out with my sisters and i and they absolutely LOVED him. My sisters mean the world to me and it was so important that they liked him. At the end of the night, after making a few jokes he kissed me. I remember the feeling I had in my stomach to this very day 2 1/2 years later... I had never felt it before and i knew he was someone special.
I always used to talk about our future with an 'if we... ' statement about everything, if we get married, if we have kids toghether. So last christmas at a friends party i got a little buzzed and told him, 'you love me, i love you. I'm not saying 'if' anymore, I'm saying 'when.' So as i am opening my christmas present a few days later, he pulled a hidden box from our closet. I opened it to find a past, present and future necklace. As I told him how beautiful it was, he told me, 'This represents the past, the present and the when.' and 8 months later i have a ring on my finger. :)
