Good morning ladies! For all my girls who came to the NYC g2g last night, I had so much fun and I heart you all!!!
now for the question....
'If FH had an amazing job opportunity, but it was in a distant country, how would you feel about it? Would you be willing to pick up and move, knowing that you would hardly see your friends and family? Would the money be worth it and would you do it for FH?'

Yes, I'd go. I already moved all the way over here for my own ambitions. I can make friends where ever I go, and family are always contactable and visitable. It's easy to make new friends in new countries if you're open to it and put yourself out there (like going to LIW g2g's!) and with technology these days, it's easy to keep up with old ones too!

I kind of feel like I already did this, but I only moved 5 hours away!! I do love my new home and my new LIW girls!!
But yes, I would absolutely do it again. FH is the most giving person I know and I would do anything for him.
is boston a distant country from ny???
like, would you move to Japan? England? Indonesia????

We talk about this a lot actually. FH is a federal agent, so there are job opportunities in his field all over the place. I would ABSOLUTELY move for him. We ideally want to be in NY when we have children, but right now its just the two of us and we are not opposed to moving.

I'd go in a heartbeat! and I know my mom would come with me and that's all that matters! (and those of you that know me, know that I would jump at the chance to leave some ppl associated with us behind!)
no clue who you're talking about xo

Very funny lady. I meant that I already left all my family and friends behind!! You knew what I meant. And given that I could you can get to England in less than 7 hours, it wouldn't bother me to move again.

true, but being a 4 hr drive away from family and an 8 hour flight away is a big diff. you should move to italy, this way it would give us an excuse to come visit!!!!!

I don't think that I would be incredibly happy about the idea but if it was a great opportunity for FH and it was something he really wanted to do than I would go. Knowing FH though, he would never want to pick up and leave his family and friends behind so this senario most likely would never happen.

Having lived all the way across the country for 6 years while I was in grad school, I would definitely go for it! I feel that amazing opportunities to see the world only pop up every so often and I would take advantage of them while I was young enough to enjoy it! Family can always come and visit
My sister moved to Canada because her husband got a really good job offer there, but she is really homesick and they are trying to move back to the states soon. I just think its very dependent on people's personalities whether or not they can handle it.

i think opportunities like this come once in a lifetime, so i would totally support my fiance's decision if he wanted to take the job. i don't have any family in new york anyways, so that's not really an issue for me. however, i don't think my fiance's family would let us move away. either way, i think it's worth a shot and if it didn't work out, we could always move back =)

The only place id move to is Florida.. My friends and 1/2 family are in NY and my parents and other 1/2 of the family lives in Dominican Republic. So in Florida I'd be half way to both... (and i love Miami and the warm weather)

No.
FH have had this conversation many times. I love him, but family is EXTREMELY important to me (and not just mine). When we have kids, I want them to be with their families. They should know who their grandparents are and not just see them on holidays!

Re: ***QOTD, Thurs, Sept 23***
It all depends on which country. I may consider it if it's England or something similar, and how good the money would be.

I'll be going against the grain and say Absolutely.
It really depends on where it is though. I moved away from my family when I was 19 even though we were very close. FH left his as well. We moved far away. You make it work. Is it easy, nope...but you do it.
