QOTD Tuesday, 01/22/2008

Morning Girls. Happy Tuesday!

I’m assuming that today is back to work and school for most of us. Boo-Hoo. It would only make sense for me to ask….

Are any of you hoping to not have to work or work part time once you an FH are settled and possibly have started a family?

FH always says that his goal is to make that decision up to me, and still be able to live comfortably if I choose to either not work or take on a reduced schedule.
I know that this will not happen for a long time, but it would be nice if I was able to choose. I think I’ll want to work, maybe takeoff when we have babies, but once they start school I think I’d like to work again (reduced schedule).
I won’t hold my breath though, LI is so expensive! haha

I think I want to keep working full time! When we finally have I'd like to be out of work for a while, but I know I'll want to go back full time!! Now that my career is changing from Finance to Nursing, I know it will be much easier to play with my schedule and switch from full time to part time when need be.

We don't plan on having kids, so I will continue to work full-time. FH always jokes once I start working he can stop and I will be his sugar momma.

I would love to be able to stay home to raise my kids until they start school and then only work during their school hours but that is in an ideal world Unfortunately, I don't see us ever being in the position to live off of one salary. I think I will take off for a little while after the baby is born, but then it will be back to work for me

I don't know yet. I guess I have to see how the baby and career situation are going first before I decide on this.

i have no idea. Most likely i'll take some time off, but then go back to work part time. Depends at where we are financially at that time.

we plan on moving to florida at some point after the wedding - my family is there (parents and sister) - and with the price of homes being so low there FH will be able to afford the mortgage, all of our bills, and still be able to save without me having to bring in an extra income....he is able to transfer to an office down there and keep his salary which is really great.....i will work in the beginning so we bring in some extra money and whenever we are ready to have a baby i can stop working or just work part time.....to be honest, i really dont want to work after kids but i worry about money so much that im sure i'll end up with a part time job or something......also the thought of not having my own money freaks me out a little - like how do i buy birthday presents and christmas presents for my FH once i stop working? its like he'd be buying his own gifts and then i'd have to ask for money - its like getting an allowance - and i don't like that at all......i know its OUR money but i like earning my own....
