I’m assuming that today is back to work and school for most of us. Boo-Hoo. It would only make sense for me to ask….
Are any of you hoping to not have to work or work part time once you an FH are settled and possibly have started a family?
FH always says that his goal is to make that decision up to me, and still be able to live comfortably if I choose to either not work or take on a reduced schedule. I know that this will not happen for a long time, but it would be nice if I was able to choose. I think I’ll want to work, maybe takeoff when we have babies, but once they start school I think I’d like to work again (reduced schedule). I won’t hold my breath though, LI is so expensive! haha

We're not planning on having kids, so I'll keep working full-time.
And not to play devil's advocate, but my sister is a stay at home mom to her 4 kids. On the one hand she loves that she is the one raising her kids, but she also hates that she's so dependent on my BIL for everything since she doesn't have her own source of income coming in. Just something to think about!

We don't want kids so I would have no reason to not work..... I think I would spend too much money if I stayed home....I need work to keep me out of the mall.

people may disagree with me but I WANT to stay home and really hope that i can. I will do whatever i can to do so. If i cant then i only want my family to watch my children. I refuse to put my child in day care. I really feel that someone else should not be raising my children. if i cant raise them or have family help out then i dont think i should have children. Its not fair to a child to have to be raised be a stranger is those gross day cares.

My biggest fear is not being able to be a stay-at-home mom. I can't imagine anyone else raising my kids..or having someone else tell me about his/her first steps, first words..etc..
I can't wait to have babies and I want to enjoy every moment of watching them grow up. It's really important to me and FH to be able to raise our kids and have me stay home. If I have to work for financial reasons, I'll only work PT when FH is home so he can be with the babies.
I worked in daycare for 2yrs, and I have a friend who has worked in various daycares for the past 6yrs..and theres no way I'll ever send my baby to a daycare..

Its wishful thinking, I would love to, but we have to eat!
I would like to stay home as long as my job will let me, I hate the idea of daycare too, but we'll see!
