Thank you all for answering my first question of the day yesterday!! It was so much fun reading all of your responses!
For day 2-here we go... let's start at the very beginning (...a very good place to start!): How did your fiancé (or maybe you asked him!) first ask you out & what did you do on your first date?
Okay, so my fiancé kinda asked me out for coffee about 2 years prior to our actual first date, but I didn't wind up going out with him (woops! )
So 2 years after that, we reconnected... & we had been texting for a little bit & doing the whole talking for an insane amount of hours straight on the phone for a few nights & I waited for him to ask me to hang out. I believe I finally texted him saying 'Maybe we should hang out or something' , he agreed & we decided to go out for coffee the Friday after Thanksgiving. He had mentioned that some mutual theatre friends of ours were having a game night at one of their houses that night & he invited me to go with him after coffee... I said yes to that as well.
I had work that Friday morning AND had a full blown anxiety attack (I had never had one before haha) -freaking out about going to the game night, because what if people thought we were dating & what if I didn't wind up liking him & then all of these people would always connect us together... AKA I completely over-think things--I was freaking out so much that I even crashed my car into the fence at work!
The minute I walked into the coffee place (I insisted on separate cars because ya know, what if he was crazy & I wanted to leave early? haha) & saw him I felt completely at ease. I remember having an awesome time & the conversation & laughs didn't stop. Then it came time to go to game night & I remember having lots of fun with him there as well-We even stayed until like 4 or 5 AM (Woooo! It was a wild game night apparently haha) I honestly can't imagine a better first date with my fiancé!
****************************************** Oh! And I also want to say HI JOE! Since I know you read my QOTD & all! I love you!

Re: *** QOTD 3/6/12 ***
Ok, well to explain this story properly, I have to go back to before we met .
It was my 25th birthday and a few days prior, I had broken up with a guy I had been seeing for about 9 months. I went out on my birthday (which I do believe was a Sunday, so kind of stinky) and about 5 friends came out and ALL left before 11:00 p.m. I was annoyed and a little buzzed, so I went home and put my profile back up on this dating website I had used before. The next morning, I had a message from FH! It turns out that I had been a match for one of his friends, he saw me and made a profile then and there so he could talk to me. After about a week and a half of emailing (and I mean like 3 page emails each time) he gave me his number. We talked on the phone once then he asked me to meet him for dinner.
I was so nervous to go and meet him. I just had this feeling that it was going to be different. I got lost going to the restaurant (The Good Life in Massapequa - yum!), but when I finally got there, Matt was ready and waiting. We ate dinner (wings for appetizer, I had a wedge salad for dinner, FH had mac & cheese) and had great conversation. Neither of us were ready for it to end so we took a drive to Long Beach to get ice cream (Marvel - BEST soft serve) and hang out on the boardwalk.
I had the most amazing time, and I guess he did too because we went out again the next night, and again 2 days later (when we made it official!)

The first time FH asked me out...
So I was out at a weekend event with friends. At the end of the weekend, before we all split ways - we hit up a local pizzeria for dinner. My FH was also there. He came over to our table, introduced himself because he knew one of the people I was sitting with and started talking to us.
After like 15 minutes of conversation, my much older friend who is sorta gets the honorary title 'mom' put an arm around me when went 'Fh, stop hitting on her. She's oblivious and taken.' At which point, FH was confused. So FH goes 'You have a boyfriend?' and I pulled out my now ex high school sweetheart's size 15 class ring from under a winter sweater.
FH's line - 'You should dump him, and date me instead. I'm better.'
I thought FH was a cocky, arrogant prick. He admits he was at the time.
I told him to get lost, but we later continued to hang out through the same group of friends on and off for years.
The second time FH tried to ask me out...
Finally, when he was fresh out of another relationship, he asked me tearfully in 2007 - he asked if I would ever considering dating him. If I would ever give him a chance.
I tried gently to give him a list of what I look for, to show how incompatible we were... ending with 'besides, you don't even like to dance. I want a guy who isn't afraid to go out dancing with me'
So sitting at his computer - FH threw on Enrique Iglesias's Hero, began singing it softly to me, and promised if I would just give him a date - he'd try to be the man I wanted - while slow dancing in his living room.
Unfortunately, I don't think we had an official first date as we both already hung out together constantly.

Re: *** QOTD 3/6/12 ***
to be honest, he never asked me out on a date. we had known each other since we were seniors in high school because we both worked at target. (seriously tell your single friends to get a job there bc I know more marriages that came out of that place then anywhere else ) We were both dating other people. He went away to college and we kept in contact every so often by aim ( ) but it was more of a 'hi how are you' then anything else. In the summer of 2003, we were both single and we hung out together alot because we had a lot of mutual friends. then one night he kissed me and said he wanted to be more. I said no because he was going away to Australia for 6 months. But we kept in contact when he went back to school in DC and he finally convinced me we should date. I dont think he ever really took me out because he was a broke college student. I think I might have taken him out bc i had a full time job while he didnt. ooo well hes paying for it now. haha

FH and I met working at the village pool when I was in high school (actually we grew up down the block from eachother, but i didn't know him). He IMed me one night and I had no idea who it was (a mutual friend gave him my screen name). And he kept making me guess who it was. I was beginning to get annoyed when he finally told me who it was and he said that he had a crush on me and wanted to see if I would hangout with him. So we did! HAHA our first date was spent walking around town talking all night (and he kissed me at the end of the night *sigh*)We didn't last long though. We dated that summer and broke up and stayed really good friends until 2 summers later when we realized we were in love (ahhh so sappy i know!)

LOL Kelly your story made me , especially the part about you crashing into the fence at work!
FH and I met in high school and reconnected years after I moved my seat away from him in physics because he was boring! Our first date was to Chile's and then he took me to Long Beach.. He was so shy and I remember we sat on the lifeguard stand and I was fuh-reeeeeeezing and he wouldn't snuggle with me.. so I had to do it myself! LOL and I remember my mom calling me at like 2am FREAKING OUT asking where I was and FH trying to rush me home from Long Beach. LOL.. good times, good times!

After talking over the phone and through text for about 3 weeks FH suggested we hang out. We made plans for a Sat (dinner & a movie) but then he asked if I was busy on Fri as well. I said no and he asked if I wanted to meet up for a bit so I said yes. We ended up going to dinner at a spanish/chinese restaurant near us called Sabrosura's. Dinner was yummy, conversation flowed and he was really sweet. We had a really great 1st date

Re: *** QOTD 3/6/12 ***
My FH had just gotten out of a relationship a few months prior and we met at work, but it turned out we had a mutual friend. I was bartending at what used to be Dublin Down in blue point, and asked him and his friends to come down. By the end of the night, he asked to hang out with me. That Friday night i was still so nervous to hang out with him so I asked him to come to the movies with some of my friends, and the movie we saw ended up being Borat talk about an ice breaker of a movie lol!!
But officially after that the next afternoon he came to my house, picked me up and we brought my dog Flynn down to the water near mama lombardis on the bay, and we walked around and just sat talking for a few hours.
We moved in after 6 months of dating eachother, and 2 years later he proposed at the same dock where we had our first date yay.
Ps love reading these stories they are so cute! xoxo

I love this question!
FH lived upstairs form me in one of his friends houses, i rented the apartment downstairs. My landlord got tired of me asking about him and gave me his cell #. I started texting him, and finally I ASKED HIM OUT!!
We went to dinner at one of my favorite resturaunts, and at the end of the night he told me he wasnt interested in dating someone who lived in the same place and had a child. Well his honestly struck me harder then his killer eyes, and I knew then that he was my forever. Not to mention you tell me I cant do or have something and i show you I can!!
I asked him if he had room in his life for a new friend and he said absolutly. We continued to talk, took is slow and now on Friday we celebrate 2 years together (not just flirting, kissing, and me cahsing him)

Re: *** QOTD 3/6/12 ***
FH first asked me to have a drink with him in Novemeber 2008, but I was being told he was a 'big player' so I declined. I did call him on his B-day in April of 2009, but he was too busy for me. In late May of 2009 he texted me because he thought he saw me walking my dog. It wasn't me but after about a week of talking... actually getting to know him this time around we went out to the movies. We were suppose to see 'The Hang Over', but it was sold out, so we saw 'UP', which is now going to hopefully be the music I walk down the aisle to on our Wedding Day.

We met at a party...me & FH talked in his car until 4am. I had such a feeling that I was going to marry this guy! The next day he called me and we were on the phone for hours. Two days later we had our first date down in Long Beach (also where he popped the question ) just walking and talking. We've been together ever since!

FH and I met through our siblings who worked together. Our siblings were celebrating a coworkers birthday. I ended up going with my sister and Fh went with his brother. FH and I started talking and exchanged numbers. We spoke on the phone for two weeks getting to know each other. I asked him to come celebrate my sister's birthday at Pacha. He came and we had fun dancing and talking. He asked me on an official first date to an Italian restaurant. Three years later we got engaged at the same restaurant. =)

FH and I meet on facebook where we talked all the time and on the phone for about 2 weeks. My sister and I were having friends over to hang out in the back yard of my parents house so I told him if he had nothing to do to come over. FH said he let me know and I told him if he was too chicken to come then don't. Well FH didn't like that I called him a chicken so he came. We couldn't really call that a date so our first official date we went out to dinner in Smithtown.
