Good morning lovely brides? My girlfriends and I are always taking about names. What our names mean, what we are going to name our future children, pets etc.So I thought today's question could be all about names.
Do you know why your parents picked your name?
Do you have future names picked out for your children and why those names? or what are your children's name and why?

My parents were dead set on Jennifer and then the week I was born my parents saw a movie and the lead actress was named Dana and my mom fell in love she said it was a perfect combination of their names Diane and David
For a girl we like Siena Spring. Siena because fh went to college there and he loves it so much its kind of sick and then one day we were driving by it and we said Siena for a girl name prefect!!! it also might be the color of my bridesmaid dresses (totally coincidence) Spring is going to be my maiden name.
For a boy he will be a junior.. William Victor. .

My name is Aimee. My mom loved the name Amy (Amy was a popular name in the early 80s I think), but my dad hated it because he thought it was too plain so they changed it to Aimee.
As for kids names:
I like the name Elana I like the name Logan
FH LOOOOOOVES the name Logan!!! mostly because it reminds him of wolverine from XMen.. HAHA and people have called him that before when his hair gets a little long and he needs to shave!!
FH LOVES Wolverine and liked the name Logan a lot too! While I like the name a lot too I don't know how comfortable with my son being named after a comic book character! We sitll have to talk that one out!

my first name is Jennifer..radomnly picked...middle name I Joy after my maternal grandmother..in turn my brother is Michael with a middle name Ivan after my paternal grandfather..see a pattern?
now..I wanted to keep that pattern but my dad said not to because then i'd have to use his name which is Branko (pronounced Bronco). i would but he said not too so...I wont. But I will for my girl....God willing...after discussion with my fh..years ago cuz we're dorks...here it is
Kayla Michele (I have ALWAYS loved the name Kayla so that was an easy pick...and michele is my moms name)
Roran Shea (got Roran from a book we read and fell in love with...Rory for short which could be a boy or girls name..and Shea....need I explain?)
I wanted to do Shea as well but FH said no! I think it is such a pretty Irish sounding name.. and it was home to the greatest baseball team EVER!!!

My name is Lisa ( since I was the 5th child, my two oldest siblings got to name me... so they wanted Lisa) my middle name is Joan ( and that was my mom's name) which I am happy to have her name !!!!!!!!!! ......................... as for kids....between me and FH we have 4 kids now ......... their names are Arron ( 12), Brittany ( 11) Theo & Robert ( both 8)............ so that is our happy family !!!!!!!!!!!! I think we have enough kids for now !!!!!!!!!!

my name is gina and basically was picked b/c its a n italian name lol....as for kids fh and i love madison grace for a girl and for a boy we have not decided yet but im thinking in doubles cause twins run alot in my family

My parents were going to name me Christine but thought it was too common so they were going to name me Christin, but thought people would still call me Christine if they read my name too quickly, so they went with Kristen
No idea about the kids names yet. FH has basically vetoed everything I liked so far. The only thing we agree on is giving our first son FH's fathers first name as his middle name.

i was going to be beverly until my dad had a customer who was named danielle, and he came home and told my mom that, and she loved it...my middle name is renee, and that is my dads middle name (my dads mom was french, so his middle name was rene)
for us...
Stuart Chase P-------- III...obvy its after FH
Leila Danielle P--------...i love love the name leila and i figured if FH gets to have one kid have his name, our daughter gets my name as her middle name
if we have another girl, i like sophia josephine...sophie was FHs great gma and josephine was after my dad, joseph
if we have another boy, idk for a first name, but joseph for a middle name

i was born in st. thomas, so as the story goes, there was a jewelry store in town with a window display called forever amber. my mom apparently walked past it every day. she had her heart set on tracy for the longest time, but at the last second, she decided on amber rae, as in sunshine
gracie, lily, violet, natalie--all with antoinette as a middle name for FH's mother.
aidan, jaden, jacob--love atticus for a middle name after one of my favorite literary characters and jeffrey for my dad, who passed.

My name is Angela, my parents picked it because of my great-grandmother. Her name was Angelina but they thought that was too Italian sounding and my mom wanted to get away from that because she has a long Italian name. My sisters names are Regina and Gloria... we're all three syllables and end with an -a.
For babies I like a lot of names that don't match with my future last name. I like Dylan and Colin but Dylan Dolan sounds like a porn name and Colin Dolan sounds dopey. I like Ava but fh doesn't. We both like Nathalie and Peter so we'll probably start off with either one of those names and then fight over the rest of the kids!

My name is Vanessa, and like the original poster, it was because my mom saw a movie while she was pregnant starring an actress whose name is Vanessa and she fell in love with it
We aren't planning kids just yet, so we really haven't talked too much about names

I was also a 'Sweet Melissa' and middle name Christine which was my godmother's name
as for my kids, I just have to keep my fingers crossed that FH lets me win...he thought a nice name for a girl would be Aphrodite. We stopped discussing names after that.

AH MirabellaNYC my FH is Giovanni- aka Gio )Gee-yo) Love his name <3 Ah again VickiR my nephew that was born last week is Gavin Joseph!!! great name :) My name is Diana and my parents just liked it although everyone thought it was after Princess Di because she was married the same year/month I was born and she was so popular but my mom says nope!

My name is Bianca and I was named after my dad's grandma....her name was Blanca so my parents switched it a little and named me BIANCA...
I know this may sound greedy but I happen to like my first name but wouldn't do it to my future daughter.
Here are the names I and I think FH likes as well.
Jacklynn, Gabriella, Alicia (after my mom :)
Anthony Michael, Jayson
We shall see when the time comes
OH forgot to add that I LOVE Natalia for a girl or Natalie!

Well I was supposed to be a boy at first.. so may parents had Christopher picked out.... my mom also had Kristin in the back of her mins just in case.... luckily I was born and given the name Kristin... my mom says she heard the name on the show 'Dallas' and just liked the name alot but it was spelled Kristen.... so she switched it up end in -in instead.....
As for FH and I we have talked about these names( we are Italian so of course we want great Italian names!)
Sophia Marie, Julianna Marie, Olivia Marie... all the women on my mom's side have Marie as a middle name so I would love to keep the tradition
Carmine Anthony ( after our two Italian grandfathers) or after FH David
