Well it was about 10 or so years ago - right around the time the whole thing happened with him. I was delayed for hours on a flight to Vegas and had to change planes and ended up sitting away from the rest of my family (I was 23 or so at the time), next to this guy. He kept talking to me the entire flight, showed me how to play all these casino card games, was telling me stories about his childhood. Meanwhile, everyone on the plane keeps getting up and walking by us to stare. Clueless me, I have no idea why and I just think maybe they think we make a cute couple?

Anyway, we are about to land and he mentions that he's so tired of doing all these talk shows. I'm like, 'um...why are you doing talk shows?' He looks at me incredulously and says, 'are you kidding? don't you know who I am?' And I didn't, so I said, 'NO.' Turns out it's John Wayne Bobbitt. I was floored. I mean, it DID look like him but I guess I just SO wasn't expecting it that I blanked out.

He actually was a really nice guy but just SO SLOW. He then talked about Lorena and how he still loved her despite everything. And of course he felt the need to tell me about all his porn videos he was making.

So we get off the plane and we walked off together and all these people are there taking pictures of us walking through the airport - I felt like a celebrity (if only an INfamous one). I couldn't resist asking for a photo so I now have this picture of him hugging me at baggage claim.

The funniest part was when we met up with my family again, and my father pulled me aside and said, 'if you dare give him your phone number I'll kill you!'

I met Ivana Trump when we were both on jury duty and she gave me a pair of earrings from her costume jewelry line....
I also met the channel 2 weather guy at my vet - I can't remember his name! he used to be on channel 5....

That's Jocylyn Wildestein. My brother's ex's family is friends with her and my parents have been to dinner with her. Said she is very nice.

Gavin Rosdale. Bush played a concert at my college and I was on the board that brought him to school. He was the nicest person ever! And, of course, one of the hottest as well!

Also, not as famous but still very cool - Kerr Smith from Dawson's Creek. He was at Brother Jimmy's on 3rd Avenue when I lived in the city. My best friend and I went to go see him, he's really hot in person!

Cool thread! While working at Hofstra I met Quincy Jones, Danny Aiello and Chelsea Clinton. I've also met Roberta Flack at a fundraiser I coordinated, Walt Frazier at a conference and partied with Wayne Chrebet and Laverious(sp) Cole a couple of years ago at a Hofstra bar (Wayne is a Hofstra Alum).

Wayne Chrebet's wife used to work for my company (she actually held my position, two people before me) and I met her through the publishing studies program I went through at Hofstra.

Tom Cruise(shortly before Taps and Risky Business)- when I was young and lived in Louisville,KY he dated my next door neighbor. They used to let me hang out with them in the backyard.

John Lithgow and I had a conversation in an elevator on when we were both rehersing shows.

Neil Patrick Harris and I talked at a bar one night while he was doing 'Assasins'.

Frank Wildhorn- I auditioned for him a few years ago for Jekyll and Hyde. After my audition I was waiting in the hall for my now DH to finish a rehersal and Frank came out of the room and told me what a great job I did.


I have served several drinks to Nathan Lane(what a jerk),John Corbett and Nia Vardolous(sp?), Tamara Gray (1st season of American Idol), Peri Gilpin, Ann Miller, Rita Moreno, Ian McKeller,Timothy Hutton, Bebe Neuerith (sp?) and Bernedette Peters.

I was also in an elevator with Barry Manilow.

I had several encounters with Celebrities in NYC. Ben Stiller, Jennifer Aniston, Gina Davis, Jennifer Garner, Ice T, Tony Danza on Roller Blades, Kate Hudson, Michelle Pfeifer, Bon Jovi, Robert Dinero, and James Earl Jones. I'm sure there are more...but, I cannot remember.

But, In Texas, I met Jason Priestly. I sat on his lap....okay very close to his lap at the Beach. He was promoting 90210. Gosh, that was a long time ago.

I met like 1/2 of the NY Jets at a funeral home I worked in a few years ago! They all came in a bus to visit the mother of some girl who worked for the team!! Now that was a nice sight!!

Brian Setzer (from the Stray Cats!)... he was friends with my uncle in school!

Eddie Money!! He was visiting at a funeral I directed!

This is sort of a Long Island thing to be proud of......My other uncle is friends with Randy Jackson from the band Zebra!

Does it count that I cremated Gweneth Paltrows grandfather when he died?!!!!
