Would you girls rather have a huge rock but with discoloration and imperfections only a professional could tell by looking at it OR a small perfect, clear expensive diamond?

I have a small perfect one and IMO it looks bigger than a one a little larger with flaws.

Cut is the MOST important factor to consider. a lower grade color stone w/ perfect propotions will look a lot whiter and crisper than a larger high color stone w/ a terrible cut.
to answer your question, smaller w/ an ideal cut.
I agree with this.
We went with the best quality stone we could find in our price range. I have a round 'ideal' cut stone, and it sparkles more then any diamond I've ever seen. You can visibly see the difference when comparing it next to the same size diamond. Most people think it's A LOT larger then it really is...

Quality over Quanity...
The diamond could be bigger but it won't look as nice as a smaller diamond with better quality.

my FH chose it himself (I'm still so proud of him!!!). he bought me a colorless diamond with very very few flaws... you can see it sparkle from across the room!!!
he went for quality, but I don't think it's small... it's just over a carat.

My ring is a decent size and when my FI was shopping for it there was a bigger diamond but it wasn't as nice as the diamond that I got...he opted for the smaller one because it was better quality

I definately vote for quality. The way the light shines off it makes a diference.
