Re: Queens question

I don't know that much -- but if he needs bridge to WC and Conn -- he can take the whitestone bridge too. Not sure if that broadens your search area any.

Bayside is a nice area. I have lots of friends who live there.

Also keep in mind if you move to Queens you will have to pay a city tax that comes out of your paycheck.

go to real estate sites, if you need any for queens let me know...this way you can get an idea of house prices in whitestone and bayside for example, see which neighborhood you like better

09ner here......I work in Westchester and in Queens and I live w/ FH in Throggs Neck which is actually not in Queens but is on the other side of the bridge. It is beautiful here, its right next to reception halls the Marina Del Rey and Villa Barrone....if you are interested in researching the area.

Re: Queens question

I second bayside/whitestone. houses are $$$ but rents are reasonable, the neighborhoods are great and the closest you get to LI while still in queens. bayside is really close to the throgs neck, esp if you are near Bell or the Clearview Expwy... both neighborhoods are close to the whitestone bridge also.

i lived in bayside for two years and loved it but got sick of the LIRR commute to the city. you wont' have that issue though so that's great. good luck!

Re: Queens question

Hi, I know this has been up a few days but I just saw it. I live in Douglaston and work in Westchester and can take either the TG or whitestone bridge. I work up past White plains and it only takes me about 45 minutes travel time. On a good day or if there is no traffic it can take only 35 minutes. It is really convenient and there is an LIRR station and it is less crowded than the bayside stop. The houses are a little pricey but if you are looking for co-ops there a a bunch of building but the parking isn't bad at all. I have been in Queens for almost 2 years now (orig from Bronx). If you have some questions you can FM me.

Re: Queens question

ok i've been living in queens/nassau most of my life (i was born in flushing)

I say Bayside, and Whitestone are the best choice for you. if your plannning on living their for a long time(for your kids inc. Bayside is better.)
Bayside is VERY close to the bridge..

I would tell you to stay away from flushing(35ave-45ave).. house are usually very old.. not safe at night.. thats only certain places though.. the more avenues you go down I think is nicer/quieter.. college point is pretty decent too.

buttt bayside and whitestone you should def look at more~

hope it helps~

Ive lived EVERYWHERE! from roslyn to manhattan
FM me if you have questions~ literally everywhere

FH and I just moved to Queens from Nassau County.. but definately look into Glen Oaks. It's right on the border of Nassau/Queens (easy commute for you) and its super close to the Grand Central and the LIE. It's very quiet and safe, and convenient to shopping, etc.

Hope that helps.. (even though I have no clue how far we are from any bridges.. I'm really bad with direction like that)

I agree...Glen Oaks/Floral Park (Queens side) that's where I live

Whitestone and Bayside are really nice areas and close to the bridge and all

Yes was just going to say Whitestone and Bayside are the best/closest areas in Queens to that bridge.
