Ques about children at the reception.

What is your hall doing about the kids as far as price wise?food option wise? also if the drinking age is 21 why would they charge from ages 13-20 regular price? I just don't understand.

I honestly dont know if the food option at our hall is any different but I can say that after we meet our minimum. Kids under 5 are free, age 6-12 are 1/3 off, I believe.

I think ours was 1/3 off under 16 and the little ones were free

I asked the same question at my reception hall b/c it really doesn't make sense.
She told me that the alcohol is a very very small portion of the price per person and that the $$ really is in the quality and presentation of the food, the facilities and the service.
Blah, blah, blah!
I don't buy it b/c I know for a fact that it would cost at least $20pp extra to supply alot of my friends with alcohol!
I think that it is just a way to get more $$ from you, but what are you supposed to do?
We limited the # of kids under 21 anyway, so it wasn't really a big issue for us...

just some advice...I had to include the kids into our minimum...and I don't know why I told my hall that they were kids...b/c they gave them kids meals...chicken fingers...while I paid full price!!!

but I think if thats the worst thing that happend at my wedding then it turned out pretty good...huh?

We are paying 1/2 price for those under 16 and the babies are free. How much could they eat anyway?

That is a good question - I have to ask them that.

We get five children under 5yrs for free. All others are full price & dunno if they get a different meal, but if I haveta pay anyways it may as well be something kids like to eat so I hope they get chicken fingers, altho it sux to have to pay so much for that! But it'll keep em in a good mood its all good.
