ques for alimentum and nutramegen moms..

what was the reason your dr. put your baby on this? I ask b/c I have to call and ask my dr. if now she does need a sono b/c he put her on alimentum b/c she has a little blood in her stool, she has been on it a month and still has a little bit

she had this w/ the soy so he switched her saying it was an allergy but sometimes now I still see a drop or so

My son is on Nutragimen because of possible allergies ( he is still too young to test for allergies). Andrew had severe eczema when he was on regular and soy formula. He never had any blood in his stool that I was able to see. Is it possible your daughter might be constipated? Some babies have a problem with constipation because of the iron in the formula.

Sometimes she is constipated and cries before pooping othertimes she is happy as can be! its weird, Right away they assumed she was allergic to Soy and put her on this, she seems fine w/ it but sometimes I still see a bit of blood its like a pin drop but I still see a little but not everyday so this is something I have to run by him, since all formula has iron in it now and days, when I was a baby I was allergic to iron though and had formula w/out iron

Talk to your doctor. Rebecca (7 weeks old) is on Nutramigen and was put on it because she was colic...crying from one feeding into the next. This was after a trial of the soy formula too. It's been a little over two weeks and she has been so much better. we still find she is fussy from around 10pm to 1 am but then sleeps for almost 6 hours. Yeah!!!
The only problem was constipation. After the first week we were told to give her a tea spoon of white grape juice once a day. This did the trick. Some doctors suggest prune juice. I hope everything is ok.
