Ok..I've just been lurking on here for a little while...but I've got a question. FH and I want to TTC on our HM. However...I've been on the pill for about 5 years. How long before we TTC should I stop taking the pill? I know that it takes your body a few months to adjust...but should I stop now, the month before? Anyone know? Thanks ladies.

I went off the pill 4 months before the wedding and started pre-natal vitamins

I think all doctors opinions on this vary. Some say one month, some say two.

I don't think there is an exact answer to this. Some girls got pg the month after they went off BC, for others it would take longer
I went off the pill in June and got pg in August

A doctor will tell you to wait 3 months for your period to adjust. However you are most fertile your first 6months-1yr. when going off the pill. I waited 4 months and was pregnant 3 months later. All in the timing they say... Good luck on your HM

My doc told me that I could get PG the very next month after going off the pill (I was taking it for almost 8 years). It took about 10 months for me to get PG. In fact I never got AF regularly after stopping the pill. Not meant to scare you, just wanted to share my experiences. Best of luck for your HM baby!

i went off in November, and got pregnant in the end of April. We weren't trying though - we just had a bit of an 'accident' - named Sophia. But I know plenty of women who have gotten pregnant right out of the gate. I think the doctors like you to take a few months to get everything regulated so you can start charting, etc. Your period may be very irregular for a few months after getting off the pill - therefore your ovulation as well. (that's what happened to me!)
