about how many beers is it to be legally 'over the limit'? For women? For men?

It doesn't go by the number of beers. It depends on your body weight I believe. It's a percentage.

Legally for DWI it is .18, for a DUI it is .08 ...last time I checked, anyway! Duh, I just read the question... for someone approximately 125 lbs, I think it translates to 3-4 drinks (a beer, or 1 oz shot, or one liquor mixed drink) per hour for a DWI, and I think it is 1 1/2 for a DUI.
