Re: Question
Many have recommended Blum's in Patchogue and Miriam's in East Meadow. I went to Georgette's in Hickville and do not recommend them, I had 2 bad experiences in there. I also found that if you have tried them on and know what you like, ordering on-line was much cheaper in price and you I got free shipping.

Re: Question
I don't recommend Miriams - i ordered a bra from them that either never came in, or they never bothered to call me, and I didn't think their selection was that great - I was also surprised for a custom shop they didn't even measure me, it was weird.

Re: Question
MAry's!!!They are on woodbury road in woodbury.
I just bought my bra yesterday.
They have been in buisness for about 40 years.
Plan on waiting a while though, they always have a LONG wait, but they are amazing and really know what they are doing.
Ask for luisa...

Re: Question
Mary Corsetieres 516-921-4033Tuesday-Friday 10am to 4;45pm
Sat- 10-3
If you get there before 9;30am you shouldnt have to wait long. The rush starts about then and lasts all day. ( yes, they line up before opening)
They only have 2 fitters. If they werent the best I dont think the north shore would still be waiting on them.
Good Luck

Re: Question
I had a good experience at Miriams (though I'd be unhappy if I were you JPSgirl...it's not right what they did). The lady who helped me didn't measure me either, just took a good, long, hard look at 'the twins' and at a pic of my gown. She hit the nail on the head. The first corset I bought totally showed through my dress. They took it back without question and we found a shorter line strapless bra. I can't believe I found a strapless that holds me up!
The ladies at Miriams told me to come in a week or so before the wedding and they will stitch it to fit perfectly.
Miriams is on Hempstead Tpke in East Meadow, in the corner of the Home Depot/Pearl Paint/Zachary's shop center.

Re: Question
I got my corsette from Miriam's and I LOVE it. Also, they were very nice and they do free alterations (if you need the back lowered a little or the waist taken in a bit.) They didn't have a big selection, but I didn't need it. The second one they came out with I liked and it fit beautifully.

Re: Question
Miriams is good but she can take a long time to get in an order. Me and FMIL have been waiting for almost 2 months for an order! I personally like Georgettes.
