I don't know if there is a name for it either. I think it's just holding your train in your hand.

I'm not sure of the name, but I know that dresses of the 70's and 80's mostly came with those elastic loops that you'd put around your finger or even waist.

Re: QUESTION
I call it a pain (). If you plan on carrying/holding your dress like that all night, your arm is going to get soooo tired, think about how heavy our dresses are going to be (). Also, I've heard of instances where girls carried their dresses like that, and the holder thing ripped off. Granted you run the risk of the bustle not holding too, but at least your arms won't be sore the next day.

Re: QUESTION
My dress has a loop at the bottom of the train. I just figured it was for when you hang it up... what the heck do I know?

Re: QUESTION
My sister held it like that for her 1st dance then bustled it in the back. I'm thinking about doing the same thing..I can't imagine holding it all night my arm would hurt but my dress is heavy!!
