Ok we all do weddings of course not for the gifts or money, blah blah blah...but realistically, we sort of expect some people to give money. is ne one predicting how much they are going to get?

I didnt really think about it... i assumed we would never get anywhere near what it cost to do the wedding... but we came very close...
some people were super generous and others we were shocked at the amount...

We got a little less than half of the cost of our RH and vendors back. That's not including the cost of my gown, our HM, RD, and all the little tiny extras.

I had 'hoped' we would get back a little less than what we spent, but we just got back approx 1/2 of what we spent.

I think it depends on your guests. In my case we have a lot of people coming in from out of town so we expect less from them due to the cost of them traveling here. On average I would say you can probably expect half of what you paid. HTH

We had two receptions.
We got back, in monetary gifts, pretty much the same as the costs of the receptions.
Plus some people gave store GC's (Target and BBB) and physical gifts.

We got back more than we expected. My parents were very generous. We did have 3 non gifters/no cards. Some people really surprised me with what they gave.

we made about 56% of what we spent and that includes the cost of HM and most minor details

same... he got a card from bil who is 14 and his gf that flew in from Chicago to go gave us a card but not him

We were very lucky and got back about 80% of the RH costs.
