Went to the CH and glad I did. I had a great time at the reception because I didn't have to go table to table.

No announcement...we just walked in and were surprised with a rousing round of applause, then we visited with as many people as we could. We left about 15 min early and were announced at the reception. Still felt special, still was wonderful. We would not have had it any other way.

I plan on doing this as well!

We were at our cocktail hour, and still announced just like usual at the start of the reception....there is no reason you can't be announced bc you've been 'out' already.....really, go to your cocktail hour and enjoy it, it's one of the best parts! It didn't detract from us being announced at all.

You would still be announced just everyone would have seen you already. My FH and I decided that we are going to spend the remainder of our cocktail hour alone in the bridal suite since you get to spend little time together during the wedding.

I'm going to get bustled before cocktail hour because trust me, if you don't, people will trip and walk all over it. A disaster waiting to happen Then go back in a few minutes before reception to get announced.

I actually wasn't bustled until after we were anounced into the reception. I had no problem holding my train (cathedral) until then. It looks so pretty in the pics when they fluff your train when you enter the reception. I held it for the first dance and then got bustled after the best man speech...

i had my dress bustled in the bridal suite before the cocktail hour bc my dress was being stepped on and it was getting annoying!! we went out for the cocktail hour and said hello to as many people as we could bc we had 225 guests and did not want to spend our entire reception walking around; we wanted to party!! At the end of the cocktail hour we went back to the bridal suite and then were announced by the DJ.

We hung out at the cocktail hour and then I went in early and got bustled, freshened up lipstick and we got announced after everyone sat down for dinner- it was still our first time being announced as Mr. and Mrs....

I plan on being announced at the reception with the rest of the BP even though I am planning on being at my cocktail hour. It just introduces you formally, I'm sure I won't get to see everyone at the CH anyway.
