Question about buying clothes for newborn 23cm Height and 9lbs 5oz...

I found something I would like to give someone who just had a baby. The size of this body suit is 0-3months (baby was just born 1 week ago). I read the measurements on the tag and it said up to 13lbs and 24cm in height. Should I have gotten the 3-6 month size? It is 100% cotton. I really am clueless when it comes to buying clothes for newborns. Thanks!

Wow, thats a big baby!

When Emma was born she was 7lbs 15oz and 21' long. I had her in premie clothes for about 2 months. Those clothes sizes are crap! I think 0-3 will be fine. Does the outfit have feet? He/she may grow out of it quicker then but being only 9.5lbs I think 3-6 months would be HUGE!

My son was 9 lb 3 oz and 22 inches and he wore 0-3 for about 2 months, I only had 1 or 2 'going out' outfits in that size b/c I also put 3-6 month clothes on him and rolled them sleeves and legs so he got more use out of them. But in pj's he was in those 0-3 for about 2 mths. HTH
