Does anyone hear or know anything about the new condos being built in Astoria on Ditmars Blvd. My other question is if you live in a co op and can you sell it and make profit or does it depend?

You can sell them for whatever the market dictates. If you buy wisely into a strong co-op... you will most likely be able to sell for profit down the road.
I sold my old 1br co-op at 75% profit last year. My new 2br is already worth 30k more now than it was when I bought it last year.

We were looking into buying a coop about 3 years ago, but we decided not to. Looking back I wish we had bought a coop. The prices have gone WAY up since then.

We have been in our coop for almost a year. The vaule has gone up by about $40,000. It really depends on the area and demand.

I use to live on Steniway and Ditmars. But I was there last month and it looks like they are making apts/co-ops on Ditmars and 42nd. It is right next to the little mall place. I have been wondering what they would be. But Ihave no info..sorry!
We live in a co-op now and yes you can sell it and make a profit. Since we bought our place (October) prices of our model are up $35K.
