question about cookware?

question about cookware?

Is stainless steel naturally non-stick?

I can't tell if this is non-stick, it doesnt say in the description anywhere:

Emerilware Stainless Steel 10-Piece Set

Now the quality and style of Emerilware can be found in stainless steel cookware. Heavy-gauge 18/10 stainless steel cookware has a copper and aluminum center for even heat distribution, which equals optimum cooking performance. The flared lips on the pots and pans means easy, drip-free pouring. Cookware also features stay-cool cast stainless handles secured with stainless steel rivets and self-basting, tempered glass-dome lids. Dishwasher safe. Lifetime guarantee. 10-piece set includes: 8' fry pan, 10' fry pan, 2-quart covered saucepan, 3-quart covered casserole, 3-quart covered saute and 6-quart covered stockpot.

Any help would be wonderful! TIA

Re: question about cookware?

no- Stainless steel is not non-stick

you would need to use a spray

the only cookware that is no stick would have a coating- black

that's a great price for 18/10 SS

I have both- and never have a problem with my Not Non- stick pots

If you get this set- I would also get 1 or 2 non stick fry pans- they are really the only peices that nonstick matters on any way

yep- you have to spray it

it's made by a company called Meyer- they make Kicthen Aid cookware, Calphon, Farberware

it used to be made by Al- Clad- but it was $500 and didn't do well

Re: question about cookware?

Emerilware is made by All Clad. I think his cookware got pretty good reviews... especially for the price. He has a anodized aluminum set too, those are non stick.

You can get a whole set of anodized aluminum for all non stick pots and pans or a mix of stainless steel with 1 or 2 non stick frying pans.

I put it in anyway- but then again- I didn't pay for mine

the outside surface is not as hard as Stainless Steel- so that's probably why it can't go in the dishwasher

but when companies test for dishwasher safe- they run it thru a dishwasher about 2000 times-

Re: question about cookware?

this is a great set for the money

the copper layer will conduct heat the best- and b/c the whole pot is not copper you are getting the benefits with out the cleaning

Re: question about cookware?

my fh and his roommates have a anodized aluminum set, they put it in the dishwasher... so far so good... but I wouldn't bc I'm afraid it eventually it would get damaged.
