Question about Dunn's River Falls

Have any of you been there?

We have the option to do a day trip with the hotel we are staying at and Joey wants to do it. I haven't heard much about it and was just wondering if it was worth it.

you are going to Couples, right? I think they give you free transportation there. We didnt go b/c DH is a loser and affraid of heights so we stayed in the resort all day.lol

ETS- everyone else who went liked it. There are little haggler shops and food and its nice for the pics and the experience.

I went there
It was fun to do once in your life. It is crowded and very slippery. If you do go make sure you have water shoes...they do have ones you can rent, but I wouldnt.
It was fun, and I would recommend doing it. You get great pics too!

Yes I've been there.. it's on the beach....and you can take a trip where you climb the fall. If you have bad knees I wouldn't suggest it. However there is a stairway right next to the falls instead of actually climbing the falls themselves.. or just hang out on the beach. I believe there is a little bar that serves drinks too.

I'm just scared because everyone says don't leave the resort.

hey! when we went to jamiaca we didnt do this excursion we did an ATV ride but another couple we knew did the Falls and LOVED IT!! it is like THE attraction to go see. i say go!!

I went to Jamaica in August last year - We ended up not being able to do Dunn's River Falls because of the hurricane - But EVERYONE said to definitely do it! So definitely do it!
Also, we did get a chance to do the zip line tour - Do it!! It was a once in a lifetime experience and was such a blast!! The tour guides were hysterical!!! Have Fun!!

Exactly..they mean not to leave the resort without an 'escort'.. Tours are totally safe there. I wouldn't go with FH and visit a local bar there though!!

I went up the falls and LOVED it!!! I went with my family on a cruise excursion and we bought a video of it...it's hilarious!!! Definitely very slippery! We had some good laughs doing that. I definitely recommend the water shoes though...but I say worth the trip!!!

We didn't go and I wish we did. Definitely do it. It's a long trip, but it will be worth it!

we didnt but should have..its fine if you are doing an excursion like the falls or shopping port, but just dont get a cab to see the sights in downtown kingston..lol you do have all the watersports included too so its not like you will be bored if you stay at the resort.

we just couldnt be bothered with timeframes and wanted to veg out.

there is a lazy river tour too that everyone raved about (we didnt do that either)

I went one year a while ago. It was fun and definetely worth the experience to try once. You have to wear water shoes and hold hands with others while going up - its super slippery. But its definetely something I remember, and i went in like 1999.

We left CSA and did the Chukka Tour which is in Montego Bay. So much fun!

Its a good time. Only suggestion, you know those rubber shoes people wear on the beach, you have to wear them in the falls. If you have them bring them, otherwise you have to rent them there.... i was not happy.

I did it years ago when I took a cruise to Jamaica.... REALLY fun! Very slippery (so those water shoes or sneakers that you can get wet) are the best...) There's a beach at the bottom so you can hang out there too. You'll be fine b/c it's such a touristy spot- it's not really local. I would say yes to do it as an excursion
