How many of your fiance's are actively participating in the planning of the wedding? What are they doing/have they done so far?

Same here..I went to the the florist meetings alone b/c I know excalty what I want. But he will prob come with me to see the sample. He even wanted to know what the BM's dresses looked like. And I will porb go with him for the tuxs. The only thing we didn't do was my dress and stuff
I think its better when they are involved. Its not mt day, its OUR day.

Re: Question about fiance participation...
FH and I went to visit each vendor and made decisions together. I did most of the research though.
ETA: Most recently he stayed up late the last two nights to print up the envelopes for our invitations (which I stuffed). We are a good team.

Re: Question about fiance participation...
Brianne and I have planned everything together, except her gown(which I'm not suppose to see), and bridesmaid dresses. I know it can be very stressful on a bride to plan a wedding on her own, and I don't want this to happen to Bri. We are getting married to each other, and I feel I should be there to help her with any decisions she has, and give her my support so she won't second guess any decisions she has made in the past or going to make in the future. She's my honey for life, and she will be for the rest of my life.

Re: Question about fiance participation...
We've made all decisions together so far...date, reception hall, photographer/videographer, DJ. I plan to do the flowers myself, and we'll work together on limos, invites, favors, etc.
We also started registering together, but I don't think FH will be going w/ me too many more times. :)

Re: Question about fiance participation...
Wait one minute...he is supposed to help plan???
Well, if you count going with me to the hall so I could write a check or going to our meeting with the rabbi, than I guess he has 'helped'. He drove me to write the check..what a guy!! I can't be too upset because this is his 2nd wedding and helped plan the 1st one and it is quite obvious that it didn't go so well!!!

Re: Question about fiance participation...
We both did the following'
1. Chose the hall 2.date 3.band 4.flowers 5.invitations 6.photographer 7.limos 8. videographer 9. tuxes
He's been so great. The only things I've really done alone are bridesmaids gifts, my dress, headpiece etc.

Re: Question about fiance participation...
I can't complain AT ALL. He went to every single reception hall with me, went to a DJ appointment by himself, went to every photography appointment, and even drove to NJ so we could interview a videographer. He doesn't really make the appointments or do much research, but he'll look at websites when I ask him to and he's in charge of planning the honeymoon.

Re: Question about fiance participation...
we havne't done much yet, but he did come to the church w/me to speak to the priest. i know he will be there every step of the way. except for the dress - he doesn't want to see it, know where i got it from, he's supersticious about it. but hes the best and i have no complaints (yet)!

Re: Question about fiance participation...
My FH is somewhat involved. He comes to all of the meetings with me if he can, but he leaves the final decisions up to me because he knows I have researched everything. He is trying. I don't know how excited he wil get about favors and flowers but he is getting there

Re: Question about fiance participation...
With the exception of the florist, we've met with all the vendors together. It's been good for me because sometimes I have trouble making choices. I was also really shy about asking questions of the photographers, but he really stepped up. And he chose the tuxes on his own (though I was there) which was fine, since he has to wear it (and he has good taste)

He attended all of the vendor meetings. But has not gotten too involved with the details. Before I do something, I ask his opinion but most of the time he doesn't have much to say.
Same here!

I've been involved in all of the planning with my FI, the only thing I don't have a clue about is what she's wearing...anything having to do with her is off limits!!

Re: Question about fiance participation...
I do 90% of the research. We consult each other on decisions. He'll tag along to vendors when I ask him to. So far the only thing he has really done from scratch is finding our officiant and researching our honeymoon. Sometimes I wish he was more involved, but then I realize that there is less room for disagreement when I do more of the work.

I gave him a simple assignment, find an officiant. A few weeks later, he comes back to me saying that he doesn't know where to look. I say to him that his best friend got married and he was in the wedding, ask around. In the end, I wound up doing it myself.
We mostly did everything together, but like I said earleit I usually do most of the background investigating. When it came time for limos he really wanted a Hummer so I told him to just take care of the limos then.. same things happened with him. He said he didn't know where to look. SO I asked for recommendations on LIW and printed that post out. I also showed him how to access the venords page on LIW and a few other sites. he amde the Appointments and we went to them together. Sometimes they just need a little help. I know I would be LOST without this website so I know how he might feel.

My FH has has next to nothing to do with the planing. He did come to the hall after I told him I thought I had found the one. He did come see the band at a showcase before we booked it, but that's about it. He has never seen our photographer, he has no clue what kind of flowers we're having and he didn't even plan the HM. He just isn't into planning AT ALL. And not just the wedding, he's just not a good planner in general. He says that's why he has me, because I'm so much better at it. It gets frustrating when they're not involved, but my FH is kind of old school and feels like all he should have to do is show up. Ah well, I love him anyway.
