Since my favors with my place cards are going to be a martini glass and my favor on the guests table will be cocktail shakers do you think these inivites will be way too informal for a day wedding. or should I go with more formal invitations? I will also post my favors along with the few invites I have thought about.
Are you suggesting these invites for your actual wedding? If so, I would say no way, but obviously we have very different taste. I don't see what a martini has to do with getting married. And yes, I think they are way too casual.

Re: Question about martini invites??
I love the first one -- your invite should reflect you, your style, your theme so if you are all about martinis, I say go for it!!

For me they are too informal, especially for Russo's, but if that's what you want go for it - it's your day!

Re: Question about martini invites??
I think sticking with the 'theme' is a cute idea...I think you can get away with something less formal with a day wedding and I also think (JMO) that anyone who says something about your invite in a bad light ( a guest that receives one) should focus more on the problems of the world and get out of the house more because c'mon, if someone has nothing better to worry or complain about , then thats THEIR PROBLEM!
By the way, I like the hot pink one that you posted, looks different and edgy, goes with the theme as well...

Re: Question about martini invites??
I found two more martini invites that may be a touch more formal than the ones above, but will let you stick with your theme!
Otherwise, I didn't see the hot pink one before. I like that one!
I like the last one you posted in your second post. The modern pink one.
But I love the saying on the first one, maybe you can have that on your favor tags or something.

Re: Question about martini invites??
go with it! i think it's awesome and retro and fun. I also like the second one of the second post-a little more subtle with the martini glass at the top of the invite, but still conveys your theme and personality.
I am tired of getting pretty, white, safe invitations in the mail for weddings. BOOOO-RING!!!
You go with your bad self.

Re: Question about martini invites??
Since you mentioned it was a day wedding, you dont really need a formal invitiation. Unless of course, that's what you want to go for. But I absolutely adore these invites. I think they are formal and yet very contemporary. Does anyone have any information on these invites? PS - LOVE your favors!!

I like the very first one, I tihink it is the msot formal & it is a day wedding, so it is ok that it is a little more casual.

if you want the martini apart of your invite too, for a day wedding, I think it could work. I would go for the first you posted,,the other are a little too casual for me. do guests know you 2 as martini drinkers, is that why you 2 chose it? I think the phase 'the perfect mix' would be cute, if you did not think of it already. (p.s. don't let others rain on your theme,,,it's yours)
I also really love the phrase you mentioned. That is such a great idea! Thanks a bunch

Re: Question about martini invites??
Are you serving a full dinner/lunch or just CH type of stuff? I like them, although I do think they are casual - but I would make sure people know they are getting dinner too, b/c I think if I got an invite like those I would like I was just getting drinks and hors.
