question about my invites

Is one month before the wedding enough time for a response date? My wedding is april 18, and I am having march 18 put for response due date.

Christy, I am doing 6 weeks. As you posted this my parents and I were having a huge discussion about this. Your decision might be based on different factors. But my rational was that we have a lot of out of town guests ( to be expected when you have lived in Orlando for the last few years) and we don't want to send Rehersal Dinner invitations to those that are not coming to the wedding so we figured we could give 6 weeks...one week to make calls and then one week for the rehersal dinner invitations to get shipped out and then they can have it for two weeks before response time....does this make any sense?? It might not I have lost my mind addressing and labeling the Save the dates (god forbid I send a STD postcard with the label with the slightest smudge, LOL!) all day...ooh yeah....plus the bottle of wine...that might not be helping either...

One month is fine. Usually that is what the response date usually is. That will give you enough time to call anyone you may have to, and do all your seating arrangements.

Christy, also I think that a former FF bride told me that FF asks for a final head count 2 weeks before...don't quote me on that once again it could be the bottle of cab. sauv. talking

LOL Am I pathetic...fh is out of town so I am sitting home alone drinking wine doing wedding stuff with the musix blaring! LOL

I just emailed Laura with a change I wanted to make, and she already got back to me! She is terrific. I am so glad you all suggested her. I just changed it to 6 weeks before, it is a holiday week, so I guess you cant be too careful.

I am sending out my invites 2 months before with a response date 1 month before.

I feel one month is more than enough time.
6 weeks seems a bit long.. Guess it is just an individual decsion

I did only 1 month but I wish I had done it a little bit longer. I would also go with 6 weeks if I had to do it again.

My response date is Nov. 15 for my Dec. 13 wedding...out of 88 invites sent out, we've received 33 so far, and we sent them out Oct. 1. So, I'm really not sure at this point whether or not we should have sent them earlier and give more time to respond. We really have very little out of town guests, that's why we kept it shorter.

1 month is fine, I think, I had to have my counts in 2 weeks before (Lands End) and I left a week to have the straglers mail theirs in and 1 week to call the others...
