I came to my quick and witty gals for some rehearsal dinner questions,
Here it goes. I'm all about following proper etiquette, however, I'd like the rehearsal dinner to just be our very close family and BP. We have some OOT guests and we aren't sure if it is the 'right' thing to do to invite them to the dinner. I really want just an intimate, small dinner.
What do you girls think?
Thank you!!!

We are just doing the bridal party, parents.
If you start inviting everyone it gest to be a small wedding.

Thanks girls. I really value your opinions, that is why I brought the question here. My mom and I had a huge discussion about it yesterday and she was like, 'go ask your computer friends, they'll know'.

honestly, it is up to you about the OOT guests
we made a judgement call. If your guests know the area, or at least speak english you may not have to include them
we only have one couple coming from italy so it isnt that big of a deal to include them

That is the thing, every single OOT guest coming has lived here before. If they didn't know the area, or didn't have anything else to do, I would understand. But all of them will be renting cars when they come in, as they usually do when they come to visit, and see other family members, etc

Re: Question about rehearsal dinners
Well i'll probably invite OOT guests bc we dont have alot of oot guests and all our OOT guests are Fh's close family such as his moms sister and her whole family and since shes planning the RD im sure shes going to invite them. Plus for example a couple from florida whose wedding we went to and they invited us to their RD, which is also family to FH lol so same thing. However, some of our OOT guests will probably not even be here during the RD, i think alot of them are coming the night before or maybe some even coming in that morning. So if the RD is not the night before which i hope it isn't, then they wont even be around for it

Thanks. I know I am not obligated, I jsut wanted to feel out what everyone else was doing. The people we are having a hard time with are people who invited my mom to their childs RD when my mom went OOT for their wedding. But, my mom didn't know anyone there.

I am going to call the JT today and see if we can do it earlier in the week, rather than the night before and that would avoid the whole problem because if we do it on Tuesday or Wednesday, no one will even be in from OOT yet. That would be ideal b/c then noone will be offended. And again, it's not about the money, it's just about having a small, intimate gathering.

Re: Question about rehearsal dinners
we are only doing close fam(parents), bridal party(which includes our siblings) and their significant others. i feel like if we started inviting oot guests and everything it would turn into a mini wedding.. and i think the RD should be after the rehearsal with the people who had to rehearse.. but thats just my opinion- to each her own!!

Re: Question about rehearsal dinners
We are inviting our BP, anyone else involved in Ceremony (readers, etc.), close family not involved (just a few additionals...) and then since we are only having a few OOT guests in that early (RD is Thurs- wedding Sat) we are inviting them too.

Re: Question about rehearsal dinners
if the OOT guest are staying at your house or FH house then i would say invite them...if it is a hand full of OOT guest then invite them if they are staying in a hotel and you do not have to entertain them then leave them out and if there are SOOO many OOT guests then leave them out...
RD should be close family Bridal party their guest...flowergirl/pillowboy and their parents...
but it is really whoever you want at the RD weddings are about what you want these days anything goes....
