Question About Room Blocks

Do your hotels automatically add rooms to your block once they have all been reserved....or at least notify you to see if more rooms should be added??

I have had to call mannyyyy times to keep adding rooms to the block. It is so annoying and embarassing when my guests call me and say that the hotel said they don't have more rooms at the blocked rate. Our invites are out and people want to book their rooms, being it's only 2 months away. I just wrote a semi-heated email b/c I can never get these people on the phone

I know as far as our hotel goes, ALL the rooms in the hotel for our wedding night are either booked or blocked by us or another wedding. So other than what we blocked, we cant block more (until one month before when all the un-blocked rooms are released)

nope. we had to call every couple weeks to check on the status and add more.

Thanks girls. I remember the woman initially saying that when we were full, they would add more, that's why I was annoyed.

they told me we started with 10, when they were taken that they would notify me to see if we wanted to block more... but they never did and 20 rooms were booked in total.

Nope - we have to keep calling and adding rooms. Which is especially annoying considering that our hotel is now 100% booked and we have tons more people who need rooms.

My hotel actually emailed me the other day to let me know and they automatically gave me 5 extra rooms. I was really surprised though because I didn't expect them to do that.

My hotel let go of half the block two months before and the rest one month before. We gave people notice and they didn't book so now they are gone!
