Question about serving wine

Question about serving wine

Pardon my wine ignorance...

We are having a BBQ this weekend with tons of my aunts and uncles and such. We are serving food buffet style and are having beer, wine and soda for the guests. My question is....

For the wine, how should it be served that day? Do I keep it on ice in the cooler or have it room temp?

I know this is a dumb question, but neither my hubby or I drink wine (I am severly alergic and would get a bad migraine), so this is new to us. Your help would be appreciate.

Oh, and I will be having Kendall Jackson wines in red and white, it that helps.

I think the white wine should definitely be chilled. The red wine can be served at room temperature.

dkga is right, red wine should be served at room temp and white can be chilled.

White should beb chilled and reds should be served just UNDER room temperature... so stick it in the fridge for about half an hour (no more, you don't want it cold!) before serving.

Enjoy!!!

One very important rule that has been forgotten...

Under no circumstance should you parade the wine past a pregnant woman who may very well gnaw your arm off to get to the bottle!

Enjoy your party Patricia!! I hope it's a wonderful success!

I agree with the ladies
People can always put a cube or two in the red if they feel the need
Have a great party

I also agree...someone can always put ice in it. I prefer cold wine myself.
You know what is pretty good are those boxed wines.
Have fun!!!!!

The boxed wines can be pretty good, especially if your having a party. Just check the expiration date on the box. Sometimes the liquor store keeps it on the shelf way too long.

JennRenee, you have me cracking up!! I will have no problems giving up alcohol when I get preggo because I rarely drink it. Frozen daiquiris are my poison though.

Thanks for all the input ladies..... Pray the weather is good on Saturday! We're expecting close to 40 people

Hi Becky!! Come visit LI soon!!

don't forget to let the red breathe - let it sit for 20 - 30 minutes before serving

Re: Question about serving wine

Patricia, the oddest thing is that when I wasn't pregnant, I could take or leave alcohol. I never minded being the 'designated driver', and most wines were not appealing to me.

Now that I can't have a drink, I've been craving frozen toasted almonds and mudslides all summer long, and I'd kill to have a glass of wine with dinner!

I just don't get it!!!!!
