When I ordered my dress many moons ago I was measured for the length for a 3 inch heel. There is beading along the bottom of my dress so It had to be custom ordered. I recently found a pair of shoes that I love but the heel is 3 1/2 inches. I would hate to buy the shoes to find that they are too high, I would not be able to alter the dress anymore because of the custom length. Do you think I could get away with it. After all a half inch doesn't seem to be that much. Anyone one have this problem before?
The shoes are beautiful but you really wouldn't know for sure until you could try them on with the gown. Can you buy them when you gown comes in try them on and then return or exchange them if they don't work? I know some stores are willing to that for gown fittings.
I have a feeling a 1/2 inch won't affect the fit that much!

Re: Question about shoes
i had a hollow to hem measurement taken as well, and the seamstress said that she usually gets the length on the nose, or within a half inch---so im guessing half an inch wont make too much a difference. i would just buy the shoes a month or less before you get the dress, so that you can return them if they dont work.

Re: Question about shoes
While I don't think 1/2 an inch would make a big difference, you really won't be able to tell until you try them with the dress. If you really want them can you buy a back up pair just in case?
BTW: I love the shoes!!

Re: Question about shoes
That's true, who knows if the measurement she took was exact. I will wait till the dress comes in and then buy the shoes, I am sure they can be returned if they don't work. I am just so anxious to finalize my accessories. I am also so picky so for me to find a pair of shoes that I really like is amazing. I must have looked through about 1,000 pairs.
