So i'm getting ready to send out our STDs next week. They are pretty simple, but have our website on the bottom of the card with the instructions 'for more information about our wedding, please visit...'
I have the hotel block information on the website but I was wondering, do you think I should print it out and put a separate insert with the info on it inside the envelope?

We did a postcard and on the back we just had a couple of lines at the bottom that looked something like this:
Suggested Accommodations: Hotel Name • Hotel Name • Hotel Name ------------------------------------------------------ [email protected]
We don't have a website so we just added our wedding email. SInce we have no clue who will want to stay at a hotel that night we won't block anything till we start getting feedback. We also listed 3 hotel choices so people can look at options as far as pricing, style, etc.
I think including it on the invite is best, I think most people would rather have less pieces of paper especially for the STD... it's so early on. Maybe do it as an insert in the actual invitation.

Do people usually send our hotel info with the STD i was going to do my STD in aug of 2011 and im not getting married until may 2012?
Also, do you put your wedding website on the std?

If you have alot of out-of-towners it's a good idea to add some hotel suggestions. It will give people the chance to book early/plan their trip or contact you about doing blocks. We didn't do a website, I am not sure what the purpose of a wedding site is really.

I have a lot of out of town guests as well. I am finishing my STD's tonight actually. Let me ask you....how did you go about blocking out the rooms? I was thinking of allowing my guests to choose between two hotels. Did you get information from the hotel first and then your guests can decide. Did you block a certain number at each hotel first. and from there your guests can just book. I have been contemplating this!! er!
I was thinking of just putting something in with the STD informing the guests I will be blocking hotel rooms and to E-mail me if they are first even interested in staying at a hotel. hmmm Help! lol

I put an insert with my STD because i didn't have room to put the website and then for my non-computer savvy guests, they didn't have to worry about getting on a computer to get the information... i have a lot of OOT (over 2/3 of invited guests) so i sent this out with the STD instead of waiting for the invitation
