Question: December weather

Hi Everyone,
I am pretty new to the board. Anway, I just got engaged last month and we are considering booking a wedding for Dec '03. Do you think this is a risky move in terms of weather?Thanks

Congrats!!!! And welcome aboard the board! I love Winter weddings. I've been to only a few and they were all in December with a Christmas-y theme, just beautiful. I wouldn't worry about the weather too much. If that's the time of year you want, go for it!!!

Weddings around the holiday are beautiful, so many different things that you can do. Weather shouldn't be a problem, everything will be great no matter what time of year you pick.

I am a December bride...this year! Whether it is snow in December or a massive rainstorm in June...it can happen no matter what month you get married. Luckily most snow storms happen in Jan-Feb! I definately wanted a winter wedding, so if you are thinking the same, don't hesitate! Plus there are so many fun and festive things you can do to make your wedding special during the holidays! December 2002 bride here!!

First off, congrats on your engagement!

Secondly, I agree that you should choose the month you want. December isn't usually one of the 'snowier' months, so you should be safe if you book. My FH and I are having a complete winter wonderland theme, so if you ever need any ideas, please just ask away...

Do you have any reception halls in mind?

You'll LOVE it here, and as the ladies say, addiction is INSTANT !!!!!
My birthday is in December, so I always know how weather is that time of year. Not bad at all. It may be cold, but other than that, the snow hasn't started yet, and it has stopped raining.
I usually travel in November/December to get away from the cold, but at the same time not get stuck flying in a snowstorm. I think you will be fine. Winter weddings are gorgeous. And you also get to incorporate the Holidays !!!!

Winter Invitations are the prettiest !!!!!!

I can't remember ever having considerable snowfall in the month of Dec., especially earlier on in the month. Actually, the last couple of Decembers have been very mild. I remember Christmas shopping last year without even a jacket on. You should go for it, it is a beautiful month to have a wedding.

I am December 2002 also... don't worry about the weather. As many have said there is a risk of some kind od bad weather or another any month of the year. It is a beautiful time of year to get marries. Go for it
