This confuses me .... when you or your DH are sick, does the other person sleep on the sofa?
DH and I sleep in the same bed regardless of our health
ETA: he just deleted it and re-wrote it without the part about the sofa ... i guess someone else pointed out that it was a bit weird

I've told DH before that I'd sleep on the couch, but that's usually if he's being obnoxious and he always calls me back to bed. He used to be really annoying about me being sick, but he's gotten better about it.

We always sleep in the same bed... Sick, fighting, whatever. We hate sleeping apart and I would never think to sleep on couch or make my hubby sleep on the couch
We know a couple who NEVER sleep in the same bed because of his snoring.

We stay together...DH says he can't catch my 'girly germs' lol I'm always sick (even after 5 years of teaching) and he is neverrr sick...not fair.

We sleep in the same bed. We have a recliner in the same room where I sometimes sit in when I have trouble sleeping. For snoring: I use earplugs When I want to watch TV: I wear wireless headphones (uncomfortable!), read closed captions, or ask him to wear the earplugs But if DH is sick, I sleep right by him.

Nope- we'll still sleep in the same bed. If we live in the same house we're bound to get catch the same germs anyway!

I usually don't sleep well when I'm sick and prefer to sleep on the couch, in front of the television.(We don't have a tv in the bedroom).

It depends. Usually, no. DH had the flu though last year, and I refused to step foot into the bedroom without covering my mouth (I catch colds very easily). And this year, with me being PG, I don't want to sleep in the same bed as DH if he is sick.

Once DH had shingles....and I was so afraid of catching it (my sis just had a baby and I was going to visit her in GA) so I banished him to the guest room. I also literally followed him around with rubber gloves, lysol wipes and lysol spray wherever he went! I was so afraid I would catch it and give it to the baby! So, he basically slept there for two weeks. Sorry DH!

It Depends on how sick we really are.. but we both get really restless at night and wake the other one up. So normally who ever is sick goes on the couch so the other one doesn't get sick and it's a zombie at work the next day.

sometimes... the sick person usually gets the couch though. Only because we don't want to wake the healthy one with coughing/sneezing/getting up all night.
It's not to avoid getting sick
I think that's sweet of him though to give her the whole bed to be comfy when she isn't feeling well.

I have left DH in bed and gone to sleep on the couch when he was sick but only because he was keeping me awake and I had work early in the AM. But usually we sleep in the same bed no matter what- sick, angry at each other, whatever.

I get up and move if I'm the one being restless. My FH is not a heavy sleeper like me and the slightest moves wake him up.
Me on the other hand? I can sleep through a tornado. (but apparently, not the crazy neighbor I had) lol.
ETA: I move out of courtesy, not because he asks.

neither of us has been sick yet. But I know that if he's up all night coughing and sneezing I will go to the sofa to sleep b/c 1. I want to be able to sleep w/o all the noise and 2. I cant' get sick anymore this year.

We also say one of us should sleep on the couch when the other person is sick, but we never end up doing it. I don't think its a big deal to do it though, my parents always sleep in separate beds when one of them is sick so I'm used to it!

think if either of us were REALLY sick....like we could seriously give the other something like bronchitis, I would sleep i the other room.
I would NEVER want to get him THAT sick..or vice versa.
We havent come to that road yet. When either of us has been sick (like a cold) its no big deal.
