Question for JEWISH BRIDES

I read on this board that having both parents give you away is a tradition. I'm interested in that and wanted to know if there was any meaning or so behind it. Curious....

Well, the Chuppah (or wedding canopy) represents your new home, so your parents are taking you from their house to your new home. Both the groom and the bride's parents walk both of them down. I think it's really beautiful.

That is wonderful. I always wondered what the canopy thing is for now I know what it's called. I like both parents giving me away. I don't want to leave my mom out. I LOVE her to death.
