Re: Question for MARRIED ladies:
I was very calm, which really surprised me! The entire morning I was the most laid back person there was! When my MOH left just my dad and I standing there to walk down the aisle, I felt a surge of nervousness which lasted until I took my first step with my dad. I remeber thinking, OMG, am I really getting married right now? Is this really my wedding? Are these people really all here to see me? Where is the limo and can I make a quick getaway!!!! Just kidding. As soon as I walked down the aisle I took it all in, mostly looking at everyone that was there, and actually talking to some of them as we walked down the aisle. My dad was like, I have never seen a more calm and laid back bride!
I kept thinking 'OMG OMG This is really happening, all of these months and years have come down to this moment' and I clenched my dad's arm and fought back the tears as hard as I could.
I was most concerned about timing. When I found out that the bridal party started to walk down the aisle, I was worried that I would not start to walk at the right time. I was rushing around because I spilled some water on my dress. I'm glad it was just water. It came out with hairdryer on a low setting. I was pretty calm, though, and I figured it was not a big deal if there was a pause to wait for me. Timing looked perfect on the video, though.
I had seen DH before the ceremony. He was wearing his mic. and on the raw footage of the video, you hear me asking him who has walked so far, as the camera was shooting the people walking. It was pretty funny raw footage.
When the doors opened and I entered the room, I saw DH at the front, felt like I could not look at him for more than a minute, so I immediately started to look for all my friends. I was catching different people's eyes and smiling.

Re: Question for MARRIED ladies:
I almost forgot to put my blusher over my face!! Also, before the day of...make sure you tell whoever is setting up the aisle runner (if you are having one) at what point to put it down. My limo driver asked me just before the bridal party walked down & I had no idea what he was talking about so ended up telling him the wrong thing I wanted. Just try not to think about having everything in order...at that point anything you had control of is out of your hands. Just look forward to getting to your FH!

I know this is an old thread, but I'm going to add now, even though I'm not married!
As you know, I went to a wedding Saturday. During the reception, the bride found me and said, 'No matter what you're thinking, nervous about, etc.....when those church doors fling open and everyone is looking at you - count to 10 before you start to move. I didn't, and I don't remember ONE SECOND of my walk down the aisle. Everyone's faces were a blur, especially when I caught Brian's eye and saw him crying. COUNT TO 10!!! Before I knew it, I was at the altar, kissing, then turning around to leave. It went sooooo fast!'
I thought it was very sweet of her to find me and share this
Awwwww ... that is so sweet! And sounds like good advice too

Re: Question for MARRIED ladies:
I almost lost it before the doors opened and it was just me and my dad standing there waiting. The most emotional moment of the entire day for me.
When the doors opened I thought, 'OH MY GOD, there are so many people here!' My wedding ceremony was on a Friday at 3pm so I was expecting an empty church, but it was packed with lots of friends and neigbors and family.
Also, I remember being excited that the pew bows went all the way to the last pew (St. Rose has the longest aisle on Long Island - wasn't expecting that).

Re: Question for MARRIED ladies:
I asked my mom the same question. Here she is to tell you.... Hi girls... I am married for a second time now and walking down the aisle i felt great looking at him and tearing up thinking how lucky i was to have a man that loved me as much as i loved him, and 11 years later here we are still crazy about each other and like kids together. the first marriage i remember thinking i should not go thru with it, but i felt i would be disappointing my parents and what would everyone say about me doing that to him. Now that im older i realize its only how YOU feel and you make the choice that is right for you. Dont worry about others. you have to live with him, not them. everyone gets cold feet but you know the difference between cold feet and having serious doubts about him.

Re: Question for MARRIED ladies:
Something along the lines of 'OMG, it's actually happening!!!' And then, 'Daaaad, hold my arm right!!' We didn't actually practice that, so my mom held one hand, and my dad didn't know what to do as I had my bouquet in the other. I had him hold my arm instead. Then, I remember thinking, when I got to the doors, that it looked so beautiful. I hadn't seen it all set up for the ceremony before, it was so gorgeous with all the flowers blooming. And then I was kinda overcome by the idea that they were playing the 'here comes the bride' wedding march, and it was for ME. For ME.
When the doors closed and the music played I thought to myself'OMG its really happening!' 'this moment I've been planning for 18 months is here' I started crying like a baby. My mom asked me what I was thinking right before we walked down and I told her that I realize im not a little girl anymore, im getting married to my best friend. im going to be someone's wife! Then I made her cry. i had one big cheese smile the whole way down. It was one big emotional moment. Its so hard to think back already on that moment and it was only just about 3 months ago!

Re: Question for MARRIED ladies:
I wasn't thinking about TOO much right before.. i actually was excited to just walk down... I was nervous on the way to the church.. but when we arrived I just got so relaxed.... I guess some thoughts were.... 'make sure i kick my dress as a walk so i don't trip', 'i hope people like my dress', 'don't cry' .... and i didn't cry at all the entire day.... i was just so overwhelmed..... while i'm at the alter... 'it's really hot in here'....'i forgot to look at my pew bows, when we turn around i must see if they are there'

Re: Question for MARRIED ladies:
I was thinking, 'I can't wait to see geo waiting for me at the end of the aisle...I am SO HAPPY!!!!' At the same time I was so proud that my dad and my grandfather would be on either side of me.
It is truly the ultimate experience.

Re: Question for MARRIED ladies:
I am an extremely emotional girl, I always thought I would be balling down the isle the entire time! To my surprize I don't know what happened. I was nervous as hell and I almost shed a tear before coming in, but I kept thinking, if I cry I'm gonna look like a raccon! I had butterflies in my stomach but for some reason I kept it together!!! XOXOXO Kitty
