morning girls- I was wondering if anyone can help me out. MY FBIL and his girlfriend want to get married in 09 and they do not have alot of money. They just want to have a dinner for their wedding. I told them there has to be a reception place that is under say $65pp on a friday/sunday during the winter. Anyone get any quotes? They want to keep it around 15k-18k. They'd only be inviting bout 100 people or so. TIA

Re: Question for the 09ers
Chateau La Mer, Swan Club and the Watermill all quoted us less than $65 a person for a sunday afternoon in March. Crest Hollow was $65 even.
They might be even less for January or February.

Re: Question for the 09ers
Thank you. I'm trying to convince them to have a reception bc I think they'll regret it later in life. They dont have to go crazy with flowers, they can get a DJ, there are so many corners they can put.

We want to do it in Disney world, and you can actually have it 4,000 to 10,000 if they set a budget!!

Re: Question for the 09ers
Would she consider a Thursday? Floral Terrace quoted me $70 including venienesee for a Thursday nite in June. I'm sure January would be even cheaper. I would tell her to try visiting a few places and see if they're willing to work with her!

maybe money isnt really the whole issue here... some people jus rather have a really informal kinda wedding and its smart actually! also, nce u go the rh route, you're automatically spending more $$ for flowers and whatever else

Re: Question for the 09ers
There's a restaurant in Floral Park called Koenig's. The food there is really great. The upstairs of the restaurant is the banquet hall where they do weddings, etc. Their prices are really great and the room can hold up to 250 people. I think the prices range from about $55 to $65 per person (this includes tax, but not gratuity). Also, these prices apply to whether it's a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening!!! I know the only time the prices change are depending on the month cause some months are more popular. For an August date they said it'd be $50 per person (but then throw tax on there). But Sept and Oct would be $59 per person (throw tax on). The price includes cocktail hour, dinner, open bar, cake and cordial table. Basically everything you do get at any wedding! Also, they are really great there cause they don't require you to meet a minimum. You just tell them 2 days before how many people are coming. Also, there's no need to make an appt to go there. You just need to find out when 1 of the 2 owners will be there so you can meet with him to check it out.
I was actually considering this place cause I've been to a few weddings there and everything is always good there. But the place I ended up booking was the place I always wanted/#1 choice, so that's why I didn't book Koenig's. Feel free to contact me for any more info.

Re: Question for the 09ers
I am paying alot less on a Thursday night in August then a friday night in March at The Riviera. FM me if you want info but, there are other places that are under $65, Fox Hollow and Jericho Terrace were at that when they quoted me. Milleredge Inn and a few others as well. We are doing our wedding 20,000 or under it is possible. Cutting corners helps alot as well, lots of DIY projects. Thats how FH and I are doing it. HTH P.S. I even got the two vendors I wanted....FM entertainment and ThomasPaul all with in my budget.

Yes, don't think of it as a regular KofC, it really is a very nice hall.
Would she do a Sunday brunch? My mom just booked my shower at Bridgeview and I think it was $55pp.
