QUESTION FOR THE ANIMAL LOVERS...

SADLY, WE HAVE TO GIVE AWAY OUR GERMAN SHEPHERD! I WON'T BE ABLE TO BRING MYSELF TO JUST DUMP HER INTO A SHELTER OR A POUND DO ANY OF YOU LADIES KNOW OF A REPUTABLE RESCUE ORGANIZATION OR A GOOD ADOPTION AGENCY?

I believe there is a 'no kill' shelter in Freeport. So sorry you have to part with your pet!

Make sure it is a no kill shelter. Try bideawee, north shore animal league or the ASPCA

Try SaveAPet. They're located in Port Jeff Station. You might have to make a 'donation' but I've heard of them taking in animals under the same circumstances. Also, try Kent Animal Shelter. I think they're in Riverhead. Both are no kill shelters. My heart is breaking for you right now. Hope it works out!

I don't think North Shore Animal League takes pets back unless you adopted from them initially.

i'm pretty sure that Little Shelter in Huntington is a no kill shelter

this breaks my heart. i had a german shep that i lost recently i hope you find a good home for him

They won't. They barely even take back dogs that they adopted out without a fight.

Your best bet would be to contact a German Shepherd Rescue Group. I googled 'NY Germand Shepherd Rescue' and TONS of places came up.
