Question for those who have hired an officiant to come to the hall
I'm just wondering if whoever you hired asked you to sign a contract or put down a deposit. Mine didn't and I wanted to find out if that's normal. TIA!

my didn't ask us to fill out a contract (I don't think, it was a while ago) but he did want $100 down. He just wanted to make sure we definitely wanted him to marry us.

I kind of requested a contract and we put down a deposit when we sent in the signed contract.

I love Father Joe, don't you? He seemed to know exactly what we wanted. He went through the format, picked readings that were appropriate to us, and made me tear up!

Re: Question for those who have hired an officiant to come to the hall
I didn't really 'hire' someone, I just asked my favorite family court judge if he would do it. I have no idea how much to give him now, or how much he expects. To add to the angst, I just found out he got promoted, so now I can't just pop into his courtroom and say hi and discuss the wedding whenever I want the way I've been doing for the past few months, since I don't practice criminal law and I'm never in that court building.
