Question for those who have hired an officiant to come to the hall

I'm just wondering if whoever you hired asked you to sign a contract or put down a deposit. Mine didn't and I wanted to find out if that's normal. TIA!

We signed a contract and put down a deposit, made me feel better that way having it in writing.
