ummm....they will meet the week before the wedding. FH's parents are in London, so they will come out to NY 10 days before the wedding and we will have our parents together for dinner the weekend before.
Talk about added stress the week before the wedding!

I think they may have met briefly before.. but after FH and I moved in together- and an engagement was imminent. We had a parental cocktail party- where we invited everyone over so that they could relax on neutral teritory and not worry about who was picking up the bill, etc.
FH and I had been together almost a year and a half at that point, and it was 4 months before the engagemnet.
This sounds like my story, almost!
We were dating for a year and a half before moving in together....and lived together for 4 months before getting engaged. Our parents met the night after we got engaged...we had them over for dinner at our apt for a celebratory dinner. We had always planned for them meeting for the first time to be at our apt - the neutral territory! Also, it made sense b/c FIL's live in NJ, my parents in LI, and FH and I live in the city!
We live in the city too- all parents are on LI..
Where do you guys live??

all of my friends live in like a 10 block radius too. we're on 88th/3 but moving to 75/2nd next week.
our parents met after 3.5 yrs of dating (1 yr after engagement and 1.5 yrs after moving in together!). in our defense though, there is a language barrier that we were fearful of!

FHs parents live in Florida. They met my mom a few weeks after the engagement when they were up here visiting. They havent met my dad yet - maybe this holiday season.

So, I may not be the only one! My folks wanted to meet his parents when we were dating! It took 5 years for them to meet his mom. His dad works so much and when he's home he doesn't want to see other people. I have a feeling that they will 1st meet at the wedding or RD...won't that be awkward though???
