Question: How long did it take...

it took until 3 months into our engagement.. so many things kept happening to prevent them from meeting

I think they may have met briefly before.. but after FH and I moved in together- and an engagement was imminent. We had a parental cocktail party- where we invited everyone over so that they could relax on neutral teritory and not worry about who was picking up the bill, etc.

FH and I had been together almost a year and a half at that point, and it was 4 months before the engagemnet.

also about 3 months into our engagement.
its funny, how that's seems to be a common #, yet FMIL, get acting like it wasn't soon enough!

Probably 4 months into the relationship. They hang out all the time now

They met months before we even started dating. We were 'friends' first We met in college and since we were both from LI we used to carpool our freshman year before we could have a car at school. So our parents first met during the pick ups and drop offs

This sounds like my story, almost!

We were dating for a year and a half before moving in together....and lived together for 4 months before getting engaged. Our parents met the night after we got engaged...we had them over for dinner at our apt for a celebratory dinner. We had always planned for them meeting for the first time to be at our apt - the neutral territory! Also, it made sense b/c FIL's live in NJ, my parents in LI, and FH and I live in the city!

Well my mom met them when we started looking at bands a month or so after our engagement...my dad on the other hand will probably bless them with the honor at the rehearsal...although he won't stay for the rehearsal dinner

His mom met my mom and step-dad a few months after we started dating when he locked his keys in the car and she had to drive over the spare set! lol.

My dad met his mom at my graduation, and both mom and dad met his dad when they drove down with me to school sophomore year :P
