When did you first meet your future in-laws? How did it go?
Even though FH and I went to college together, I didn't meet his parents until we actually started dating. It was a bit awkward because we met at one of his softball games & FH had asked if I could stay over the night before so I wouldn't have to drive from Westchester to LI early in the morning in order to get to the game on time. FH has his own apartment at his parent's house so he supposedly 'slept' on the futon and I stayed in his bedroom (and the rooms are basically next to each other). His parents are very traditional and religious so this was a big no no at first but now I'm there all the time and they're fine with it. It's to the point that if I don't come down on a weekend b/c I have other plans, they worry that something's wrong lol.

I first met them before we started dating (we were 15). FH and I were friends first and I went to his house to hang out with him and his friends.
He was just getting out of the shower when I got there and his parents entertained me until he was finished getting ready. I should have known then that he would frequently take too long to get ready

FH and I were friends for a while before we officially started dating, so I met his parents as a friend. They were routing for me the whole time, so were estatic when we started dating

i went over his house one night after going out w/ friends and his mom was on the couch - we said a quick hello and then left - she later asked him how old i was because she thought i looked underage (i was 23 lol)

hahaha don't judge me but me and my FH met at a bar and I went home with him, we passed out in his living room watching TV (yes watching TV - and eating pizza) when we woke up his mom was making coffee and dad just came in from walking the dog. His mom was actually the sweetest thing, had breakfast made for us and got me coffee LOL they were so cool with it all that it actually made me NOT want to see him again cause I just figured 'wow he must bring girls home all the time' LOL I later realized they are just really sweet people. When I told his mom that last year she was cracking up.

I met FH's mom over dinner and it was fine. She talked a lot but that was better than silence. lol I met his dad at a Yankees game which was a lot of fun!

I met FH in August and we started officially dating in Sept. That december we were going to dinner and he asked me to go in the house and say hi to his parents before we went to the restaurant. It was quick and then I didnt have to see them again for awhile. FH didnt meet my dad until 2 months later on Valentines Day when he picked me up. I dindt even plan it to take 4 months but my dad is hardly ever around and he was just randomly home that day.

I met my FMIL about 2 weeks into dating. I had brought my dog over to FI's house to meet and play with his dog. He was drivinig me home and for whatever reason wanted to stop at his parents. So she met me and my hyper, sheds like crazy dog at the same time! And they weren't really 'dog people' back then.
It was hunting season, so my FFIL was out wandering in the woods. Don't remember when I first met him, but I know his first words were 'so you do exist'.

I met all of my future in-laws at the same time, about a month after we officially started dating. It was FFIL's birthday and I went to dinner at his stepmother's house. All seemed to go well and I am now super close to all of his sisters and brothers. I never met his mother though because she passed away when FH was young.

We were dating around four months when I met the FIL's. It was at there home at a summer bbq, they were very friendly, I was insanely nervous. lol

I will never forget the day I met FH's mom…I was 14 and I went to FH's house with a couple of our mutual friends….we walked in and his mom was like 'good now I have helpers! John- you dust, Ryan- you mop, who are you? oh hi Amanda you clean the windows, you'll probably do a better job than the boys' I was like omg this woman is psychotic!!! lol But we became fast friends, his mom was like one of us. She was the 'cool mom' and over the past 9 years I've grown closer to her than I am with my own mother. Can't really remember meeting his dad but I love him too!!
