We are using a dj and mc and plasma screens for our wedding but they are trying to sell us lighting packages with it but it's going to cost more and we are on a budget. Is lighting important? Is anyone getting a lighting package with there dj??

My lighting comes with my DJ, SO IAm not sure? I personally like the lighting. But its def up to you. Its not going to change the music. Thats what gets your guests up, not the lighting!

I don't think lighting is that important....and if it costs extra, I probably won't be getting it.

IT really depends on the room your are in, but most times it isn't really that important. Our DJ pretty much threw it in so that's why we got lighting. I would skip it if it's not in your budget, there are more important things.

I don't think lighting is that important. Plus, it looks like you are getting married at 1:00PM, so it doesn't seem like it would be issue then.

Our DJ had different lighing packages available. We picked a mini-light show and it was only $150, which was pretty reasonable. I don't think it's completely necessary though.

yes our dj had different light packages. i am just going to stick with the basic i think. Thanks for the help!!

we are getting the basic lighting package, which means there are basic lights so people can slightly see while dancing...we are not using lights that are anything more than that...ask your dj if they offer a basic packag and it may be less expensive...hth

Mine comes with my package as well. It is up to you if you want it. It isn't necessary at least I don't think so.

We are keeping it simple with no lighting or plasma screens or whatnot- Russo's has three screens in the room we have so we're using them.

for my eparty the dj 'threw' in the lighting
for my wedding it is just part of their wedding package they do not do it without the lighting...

I'm also using a DJ, MC, and plasma screens. I also debated about whether I wanted the lighting or not. There were various packages where one package offered basic lighting, and another package offered deluxe lighting. To me, I didn't really care about lighting, but one of my friends mentioned that while it's not a big deal, it can just add a little touch. In the end, I ended up going with the deluxe lighting.
I say if it's not in your budget, don't get it. But if you decide it would just add a little something extra, then go for it.
Also, maybe for now stick with the basic lighting like you're thinking of getting. Then as it gets closer to the date, if you're still thinking about the bigger lighting package, then maybe see if you can splurge for it. Cause if you're still thinking of it as it gets closer to the wedding date, then I think it's something you'll probably want!

we arent doing lighting cause we are having a day time wedding and the room is all windows........if it was night time...i would have lighting
