Question re Reply Cards for those who had a B-List
Help, please!
For those of you who had an 'A' and a 'B' list, how did you do your invitations, or, more accurately, your reply cards? Did you print up two batches of reply cards with different 'respond by' dates or did you just pick one date that was a little closer to the wedding? I'm not sure I even know how far in advance I need to send the invites or make the reply-by date. Now it's even more complicated because I think we are having a B list. Any/all input is appreciated!!
Edited to say: I am getting married July 6 and the reception hall says they need the final count by June 20. Any suggestions on what my RSVP should be or when I should mail the invites out?
Edited further to say: Check it out...I'm a Board Fanatic now! Guess that happens when you hit 250. Cool.

Re: Question re Reply Cards for those who had a B-List
I went in with every intention of having 2 dates but it cost a lot of extra money to do that so we skipped it. Once you have the reply cards made its cheap to make extras but if you want to do it with a different date its like making a brand new response card. Anyway I am getting married July 4th and made my response date May 31st. That is giving me 2 weeks to make phonecalls if I dont hear from people. I think to save money you are better off just sending out some of the invites early. I think I will send some out in the beginning of April and some out at the end of April. Hope this helps

I made the rsvp date 4 weeks before the wedding date. That gave me time to call people and possible replace them with someone else.

Yes I just did one. People that were not able to make it let us know as soon as they got the invitiation so that helped alot. Usually the excuses we got from people that would not make it were for vacation reasons. So they were able to tell us from early on.
You may get a few people last minute that say they can't make it, but the majority of people that can not make the wedding will not wait until the last minute to let you know.
At least that was our experience.

Re: Question re Reply Cards for those who had a B-List
That does help. I noticed your wedding was also over July 4 weekend. Mine is Sunday July 6. I am thinking I will make the RSVP date May 31 and send the 'A list' invites the week of April 28. If we have any 'B list,' they'll probably go sometime in mid-May. Does that make sense?

Yes that is the same time frame I worked with. I sent out my invites late April as well.

The place that I ordered my invites from I asked them to make 10 reply cards w/ a different reply date. They said no problem!! (no cost was added)
